Do you agree or disagree that the 80/20 rule for dating exists?

A lot of men in recent years (especially on the internet) that 80% of women these days are only dating and having sex with the top 20% of men, leaving the remaining 80% of men to fight over the remaining 20% of women. I think this belief has been fueled by dating apps since it has also been claimed that the apps have inflated women’s standards dramatically because they get so many matches on them and are naturally only aiming for the highest tier of men on their list of matches. They also claim that women are sharing this 20% of men and seeing them casually in hopes that they will choose to enter into a committed relationship with them.

It is certainly true of likes on tinder. It is incontrovertible because that is what the stats show. If anything it is more extreme.

It is funny because some women, who found out they were all dating the same guy, collectively taken out billboard doxing the guy to warn - or was that to warn off - other women. To be fair it would be standard practice to tell women it is exclusive.

What seems to happen is if a man they consider is a 10 is fucking them then women consider that proof they are a 10 and won't consider lower after that. I have seen a woman say this in a YT video; she was certain she was dating exclusively.

It is much the same as a man feeling only as old as the girl he is feeling. And possibly considering himself as handsome as the girl is beautiful whilst still knowing his bank balance is the key attractor.

This seems quite a natural human foible to me. One with societal consequences perhaps. Unless women accept being in a harem they can't all have a 10% guy. Possibly 5-7 guys won't want them after that.

The hole with this theory is that most women are not on dating apps and many of the ones who are have only had bad experiences with them.

No it’s a load of shit, go out in any city, town there are loads of couples out and about, all of various types, short, tall, fat, all types of guy and girl are dating. Only weak people believe this shit.

By that measure I should have five wives. None of the men I know have multiple partners. They are all in the top 5% in intelligence and income.

The invisibility part I agree with. If a man works at a fast food place or somewhere like Walmart, he’s invisible to most women. Even to the women who have the same type of job he does.
