Should I be upset if my boyfriend posted a hibachi dinner plate and another plate on social media story?

At first I wasn't upset but then I thought he could've told me he was going out eat. Especially since he's been lacking on communication lately , even if it's a coworker or he's out with his guy friends, I'm feeling like maybe I'm not that important to him

I think you can gently ask him, even maybe with a dose of humor like, "Hey, I feel like I'm missing out on your stories about your nice Hibachi dinner! 😜" or something like that. You don't have to be serious about it. It's just about keeping the communication flowing on a daily basis, giving each other a head's up at the minimum about what you're doing each day.

It helps even if you're being ridiculous to be able to communicate with him. It might also help to avoid overthinking in the future after a pleasant chat. Just try to keep it pleasant and not so dramatic if possible when it might just be something small.

I've been married 14 years now very peacefully and the trick is not to avoid being ridiculous or having some wacky ideas. It's to avoid failing to communicate them. If you're concerned about something, no matter how possibly trivial, you don't want to hide it from your SO. But at the same time you don't want to create drama or something that only existed in your imagination. So just keep it light and friendly and easy-going when possible but always communicate, even if it's just a little chat on a regular basis.
