My boyfriend got mad I shared my food with my friend? Is it valid or a bit too much?

So I’m seeing this guy and I have a gay guy friend. He’s very flamboyantly obviously gay. Us three went out together and the guy likes him a lot too since my friend is extremely funny and entertaining.

I know my boyfriend in general from the first moment I shared food or a drink with him would like the closeness it would underline and sometimes when we would disagree on something and I’d not do it he’d notice and try to share his to get close again.

so all three of us were having dinner and my plate was a bit too big for me and I offered it to my friend and I immediately noticed my boyfriend get flustered and stiff for a few minutes with me then opened up after a while.

Could this be an early red flag or is it something valid that I should consider?

It could be a red flag, if your boyfriend knows that your gay friend isn’t interested in you romantically or sexually, yet he’s still jealous or has a problem with it. It could be the beginning of controlling behaviour.

I’m thinking he’s upset cause you didn’t share it w him first as his girlfriend. Would you be ok w him sharing his food w a female friend before he shared it w you? Even if you didn’t want any the fact that he would ask her first?
