I saw this woman talk about how both genders do this but personally I've never had that desire even a little bit. I was always into the good girl the problem was just that they didn't like me back when I was younger, and that caused me pain. Now that has changed a bit.

So I want to see if this is really an equal split

Unfortunately, as you can see from so many GaG posts, many people do chase the wrong person — some actually knowing that the person is actively bad for them. It's why movies like "Rebel Without a Cause" were so popular in their time and why "bad boy" or "bad girl" entertainers are so appealing to the masses. They do stuff (or act like they're willing to do stuff) that push the limits of ethics or normal day-to-day expectations, which can be exhilerating for 1/2 a second (ok ok for a FULL second) before logic kicks in and you realize that this isn't a good situation.


This type of person can easily get a partner caught up in all kinds of toxic behavior (through passive aggression, gaslighting, etc.) that can permanently damage the life and stability of their victims, who then feel compeled to "love" the bad influence and, once separated from the bad influence, crave the same type of person over and over again. In the worst cases, even after therapy the victim still continues to fall prey to this type of… what's the right word? Succubus? Yes, let's go with that.

It's talked about a lot on the internet but I just wanna see what the actual numbers are. The people that will put excitement above all else. Maybe it's pointless though because people might not want to admit it.

If you do a “Google Scholar” search you’ll find the psych data and articles. I forgot this one study that came out perhaps 2-3 years before the pandemic…. It was to do with toxic relationships and gaslighting… the long-term damages, etc. which include actual full-on obsession with picking the same “wrong person” all the time. (Or as I called it… high school, haha. A lot of girls at school would date the “bad boy” (or vice versa) and then just shift from one to another to another like Tarzan swinging from vine to vine. I’ve personally never seen the appeal, but I’ve watched some weaker-minded individuals get really sucked into that sort of negative cycle because they think that somehow that’s what they deserve.)

Yes I do. I always chase guys who don't actually like me and the ones who do like me are never my type. Probably if I changed my body and my look I could get the guys I want but I kind of think it is better not to since I don't ever want to fall in love again lol.

I've stuck around too long, hoping something would change and I've pursued messy relationships that were a bad idea because I thought everyone involved was on the same page, but I don't think I've ever pursued someone, knowing that they were bad for me.

Not knowingly. But when I was young I was too stupid to recognize bad women. I love my parents but I was raised that all women are ladies. Something I had to learn the hard way is not true.🤣
