Why do some people feel entitled to another person?

I think the sense of entitlement to another person is directly proportional to how spoiled someone was as a child... that's why in some cultures men are the entitled ones while in others it's more even across sexes. But I do think that is the root of the problem, being raised to think about yourself and disregard other people's feelings. Being constantly praised as a child and told you're special and perfect just the way you are. If it happens at such a young age when you haven't developed critical thinking skills you'll be more likely to believe it and rebel when treated differently by the rest of the world. Similarly if you're raised in a culture where everyone around you believes that you're better than the opposite sex and you're constantly put on the pedestal compared to your opposite sex siblings, you will naturally disregard the feelings of the opposite sex (women in this case) and feel entitled to them. Being entitled to someone means denying them the same rights as you yourself have, dehumanizing them.

Just people I’ve seen who are delusional especially on social media. They have these standards that aren’t reasonable, which yes they’re allowed to have. But you can’t choose whoever you want.

Unfortunately for them. Everyone can have standards and just like someone isn’t entitled to you, you’re not entitled to someone else

I’ve seen men older than me, expecting beautiful young virgins aged 18-24 who think that anyone ordinary looking or older (like themselves); is not a good match, or ‘too old;’ before they’ve even given her a chance.
