Why do promiscuous men dislike women who display their same exact behaviors?

I’m talking about women who possibly lie and gaslight regarding their relations with other men. Maybe she’s just free spirited and is scared to settle for just one when she can have them all.

Why do unfaithful men act like it’s okay for themselves to do it, but runaway from a woman who does the same?
Does it have something to do with their competitive nature and not wanting to lose?

Everyone wants the best partner or mate they can get, whether they are worthy of it or not. Even low quality people want a high quality partner if they can get one. That's true of both men and women.

Women are notoriously hypergamous. They want, and try very hard, to get a man who is of higher quality than they are. That is a well studied and universally accepted fact. Men wanting a woman who doesn't have a promiscuous past is just the male equivalent of female hypergamy.

Promiscuous women can complain about that all they want, just like lower value men complain about women's "unreasonable standards", but neither will change anything. Women will continue to have the highest standards they can get away with, as they should. And men will continue to seek the highest quality women they can get, as they should. And the fact is, promiscuous women are not high quality women.

Because many of these guys are not actually promiscuous and rather they feel bitter for either being passively rejected or by their own insecurities compared to more successful people.

Promiscuity is an ugly trait. The only men who are interested in promiscuous women are just looking for casual sex anyway. Peas in a pod.

But yet promiscuous men don’t think that trait is ugly when they display it themselves? They act like it’s only ugly on women, but it’s okay for men.

Would you pay more for a key that opens most locks or a lock that is opened by most keys? That is their mindset more or less if you can understand the analogy

How come the analogy isn’t intended to apply to men? Why does it only apply to women?
