Nah thats not as common than you think it is. Two girls I was seeing more serious in the last years all wanted to pay for themselves, I once had to even trick her and paid secretly

@Nirmroth Sounds like Germany is way ahead of the US in gender equality. That's not the norm here in the US. I mean sure there are women who are not as I described. But sadly most are like that here.

Its not like you guys have numbers or studies and are only sharing what you experienced aswell, if you even did and not only repeat what you heard from others.

Lastly it makes no sense to go on expensive dinner dates as first dates and then pay for yourself and the girl. Thats quite a lot of money/Investment in the longrun with multiple dates but no guaranteed outcome. As if anyone is willing to do that.

Also your last comment tells me either there's a language barrier or you didn't read because there's nothing that says either I the anonymous poster believe in taking girls out on expensive first dates.
