Is my boyfriends behavior disgusting or understandable?

Long term relationship. He went to his high school reunion and said he wouldn't drink too much because he didn't want to, plus he and I had plans the next day.

When I called him next day he cancelled out plans because he got quite drunk at his reunion and was dancing all night.

He's 48 years old. Has an 18 yr old and a 17 yr old daughter.

A few of my friends said it was disgusting. Like he's 48 and couldn't control himself st a reunion and had plans with you.

Other friends said we'll its was his reunion give him a break.

What do you think?

It depends on how much you value promises.
He promised not to drink.
He promised to spend time with you the next day.
He broke both of those promises. This isn’t uncommon behavior for men, especially those that might have developed an alcohol dependency without realizing it for social situations. There are women who would be willing to let this go, make space for mistakes, not realizing this gives him the opportunity to disappoint them again. There are also women who don’t tolerate this behavior and would make it clear that any second chance is a last chance. And if he’s not able to meet expectations, you leave. The former tends to do so out of a need for companionship, they think being in a mediocre relationship is better than being alone. The latter is fine with being alone if it means they don’t have to tolerate company they might be better off without. I’m not sure which you are.

This is a great response. I'm turned off because at this age the type of man I'm attracted to could care less about a reunion and even if they went 1 or 2 drinks is the most. I like men not man children.
I also found out he invited some women from the reunion to his regular watering hole that week where he meets his rich low vibration friends.

Not enough context to judge. If he usually keeps his promises then cut him some slack. If he usually breaks his promises then this particular event isn't the focus of the problem, it's just another example of the problem.
