Why do guys never approach me in public, but online they do?

I've never had a man walk up to me in public and ask for my number, social media, etc... but online guys are always asking for my Snapchat since I guess nowadays it's the "easier way of communication" I just don't understand, I feel like there's something wrong with me or I'm unattractive, even though I get compliments all the time from females! I need answers 🫨

Because complimenting someone online is cute and innocent. Complimenting a girl in person is seen as trying to get in her pants or being extremely rude and sexist. Not all the time obviously, but I've had it happen where I just said "I like your shirt" and the girl's friend said I need to stop harassing her. It's just not worth the headache

You said it yourself, it's easier, your appearance can play a part but don't forget that there's also the possibility that you're appearance intimidates them to approach along with many other forms of assumptions like they might think you are already taken, scared of rejection, insecurities, etc.

For most, it's easier to communicate via text and far less intimidating than in person.
