Looks or personality? What’s most important to you in a serious relationship?

Both are important to a certain extent , but I would say personality is most important , when it comes to communication with each other and understanding each other , someone’s heart is what matters the most. Most people in general don’t stay beautiful on the outside forever , but their heart does , if they love you and accept you the same way you love and accept them. Just because someone looks attractive on the outside , it doesn’t mean they are beautiful in the inside. I have met a lot of attractive girls’ through the years that looked beautiful to my eyes , but their heart sadly didn’t compare to their looks , they were stuck up and selfish and immature and rude and disrespectful , to the point they acted like their shit didn’t stink. And I met some beautiful girls’ that had beautiful hearts , that weren’t stuck up and immature and disrespectful , that wanted to be treated the same way they treated me , and that’s the girls’ I will show interest in and go for. Her heart makes her even more beautiful to my eyes. A girl doesn’t have to be a complete knock out for me to be interested in her, if she has an amazing heart , she can easily turn from a 6 to a 10 if she has an amazing heart and personality and good moral values that isn’t selfish and only thinks of herself. Finding someone that wears your shoes the same way you you wear theirs is an amazing connection with someone. Someone that removes selfishness for you the same way they hope you do for them. Relationships aren’t hard, Selfish people make them hard

Definitely personality who someone is on the inside is what matters most. Peoples looks change over time and how good someone looks is determined by the effort someone puts into oneself.

I’m not saying you can’t care for looks but if someone married just on physical appearance they might deserve what they get. People who want a serious relationship should find someone whose number one a good person and number two is someone they are compatible with.

Personality. I've gone for looks in college and that was the worst thing I could have done. This time around I chose personality and it was great. If only I had chosen him in college, we'd probably still be together now.

I think looks intrigues a person, but personality makes them stay. Of course, looks are subjective. As for myself, there has to be something I find attractive. You don't have to be a fitness model. It could just be something like your smile, your eyes, your laugh. Maybe you're just really expressive or a confident/open body language. But it is your personality that makes me stay. I've certainly met really traditionally attractive men but the second they open their mouths, I feel disgusted. I've also met men who aren't so universally attractive but because they're happy, positive individuals, I developed a bit of a crush on them.

Looks may be important at first, when you just get to know someone. Attraction is important at the beginning of every relationship.

But if personality is absent or uninteresting to you, you won't have a basis to build a lasting relationship on.

Odd question 😶, I'm unable to measure things like that, in terms of what is over/under/above/below what? Measuring the immaterial, how? And, even if I could do that, I can't see anyone seriously disregarding personality, unless considering that a person is... A plant in a pot, well, it's going to get boring real quick, I don't even talk about the skyrocketing frustration as a result lol.

If I am not attracted to her, I wouldn't get to know her personality in the first place. A 5 or better in looks is required.

I'd rather her be a 5 in looks and a 9 or 10 in personality compatibility than a 10 in looks and a 5 in personality compatibility.

An 8 in personality compatibility is the minimum for me, but from what I have seen, people with average or below average looks often have worse personalities than people with above average or good looks.
