Should I add her on Snapchat or text her?

I know this one girl because of us being in the same scholarship cohort. Before I used to always notice her staring at me and even when I was stare at her back she continued staring until I looked away. With that I was 80% sure she was interested. I didn’t bother talking to her because I was interested in someone else at the time (well for a long time). Recently I thought about trying to talk to her or at least to get to know her more. I have her phone number but that’s only from the group chat for the cohort. I personally thought it’d be better to add her on Snapchat since it’d be more casual but I also feel weird that I would be adding her through search. I’m not really sure how to go about this since I don’t want to come off too strong since I’d love to be friends with her too. Also since I’ve know her I never really talked to her either. We have the same interests and all. I also could very much so be overthinking this too. What are your opinions on this? Never used this site but I would assume I can reply to people so if you have any questions just ask.

I haven't gotten a text back from her, I'm not sure if I texted the right number or not since I know people in the group chat for the cohort have changed their phone numbers and aren't in the group chat so I am not sure if I have her actual number or not. Either that or I'm being left on delivered lol

If you still have contact with her in person, see her around and such, go up to her and shoot your shot. "Hey I've seen you around and I would like to get to know you, would you want to go out with me?" Scary sometimes but girls like when guys are open. If you don't see her and you want to text, you could go either way. With Snap it is more casual easier to text on you can see when things are read and it's not bad to text back and furry on but you pose the risk of her not adding you back because not all people add others back I'd they don't know who they are (I don't know the exact situation) or they won't if they think you are just looking for nudes cause snap is pretty popular for that. When you go through messages you might creep her out a little because you're taking her number from a gc but that's only if she's a crazy overthinker. I myself think that text might be better. You pretty much say, "Hey, I got your number from ___ group chat, it's so and so, I'm wondering how you're doing and if you'd be interested in going out (for coffee, dinner, drinks) with me". That's my opinion, all in all, it's your decision and whatever you decide I hope you're able to get the girl and she's good to you. Best of luck!

I just said Hi and asked about her Christmas break and how it was going. Again I'm not 100% sure if that's her number or not since I haven't seen her talk in that group chat in maybe a year or two lol
