My girlfriend is an aspiring singer who can't sing, should I tell her?

I'm a firm believer in being brutally honest, so I would say absolutely you should. She may not like the answer, but trust me, it's better if she knows how she actually sounds instead of being led a lie and then get brutally rejected later on in the professional world if she starts thinking she's good enough to make a living off of it. Because unlike you who I'm sure would let her off kindly and tell her why she doesn't sound good, professional music industries don't care about the other person's feelings and they won't hesitate to insult her and pick at her shortcomings, even if it makes ber cry. And God forbid if that happens, she'll be even MORE mad at you because you weren't honest to her and you let her believe whatever she wanted.

Absolutely yes! My grandma would tell me how amazing I could sing, the rest of the family was somewhat honest but Grandma said they're just teasing. I tried out for chorus in 6th grade and was pretty much laughed off stage. I didn't talk to her for a week lol

How long has she been practicing... if she is new at it it takes years to train your voice. Most singers are not born that way.
