Galentine's Day came from a US Sitcom, and apparently is a celebration of female friendships. There is a man's version called Malentine's Day.

Lol. No... "Galentine" is basically just another girls' night out, which ladies will do regularly with their female friends anyhow.

@beefcakebradybatson Sigh... so that's what they're probably responding to. When you chat someone up they can feel your joy or panic or resistance to them... It's partially based on a mild lack of trust (either with them or with yourself or both) because you don't know the person... Being/feeling awkward comes from an instinctive protectiveness you have for yourself... When you meet someone actually worthwhile -- worth your time and attention -- you'll probably feel less awkward bc you'll know what to say to her. But approaching random people just to test the waters... when folks do that it's usually not something that will lead to a lasting thing and you instinctively know that... so the awkward motor in your mind starts revving up and waits for the rest of the scenario to play itself out... which it usually does.

@beefcakebradybatson I'm sure, but do you stick around when they do that? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I never approach a guy now if I want something romantic with him bc if the guy WANTS to be with me he will CHOOSE to express himself. If a woman approaches... and nudges... and nags a guy into being around her... He'll just end up ghosting. It's a remarkable waste of time for the girl. Guys are instinctive hunters... it's important not to take that aspect of things away from a guy.

OK, but I wasn't by nature a hunter, largely an observer who spoke to women without using trite lines.

@beefcakebradybatson To my knowledge... even among my quiet guy friends, it's an involuntary need. They'll pass on gal after gal till they find the one they'd like to go up to on their own, no nagging or nudging from anyone.
