You can only help people who WANT the help. I can’t stop someone from having sex or whatever. Even if it hurts them later down the road if they choose to have sex then they will. Forcing someone to change will simply make someone pretend to be someone they’re not. At least you know who someone is.

Drug use. If they want to be a tweaker and rack up a criminal record. That’s on them. Once someone’s a adult they have to make their own decisions I can’t stop someone from becoming obese either.

As far as children go. That’s another story. Children need to be protected and raised right. I do agree with that but once someone becomes a adult. They have to make their own choices.
