Is it easier to move on from someone who ghosted you or someone who rejected you?

I found that sometimes people don’t get the message even after being clearly rejected but once they’re ghosted, they’re just gone. I’ve had to resort to ghosting after an ex refused to leave me alone even after I have rejected him multiple times.

Personally though, I think it’ll be easier to move on from a full on rejection because at least you got some closure. Do you agree?

Being ghosted leaves a lot of questions in the air, and for someone that's never been ghosted before... Like I did, they'll think they did something wrong and it's just the silent treatment.

I've been ghosted about 3 times, and I shit you not, all 3 situations was just because the women were cheating on a current boyfriend and one had a husband... one was almost there, made friends with the soon to be husband and got invited to the wedding and that's when I found out why she ghosted me.

Obviously at this point if a woman ghosts me, I'm just going to assume she was probably cheating on some other man with me, and move on pretty fast. But the old me had no idea that women were like this. I was new to the Dating environment in the United States and I was thinking, everytime, that I did something wrong and it left me desperate to get into contact with them to make it right.

Outright rejection, or simply being told they want to seek something else out is the easiest to handle. But I'm not the type to try and keep someone or talk them out of leaving. Plus it's way more respectful than someone that drags you along while they cheat... It's best to accept any rejection or reason to leave, because they're at least not going to waste your time or hurt you worse just to prolong use.

So if you ghosted me (me now), I would assume you're a cheater and that's why... and yes it would just be nothing. But if you ghosted the old me, I might even end up calling the police to do a welfare check on you. It wouldn't just be nothing.

Rejected at least someone gives someone closure. Ghosting is cowardly but it also just shows who someone is so just move on if they genuinely like you they wouldn’t ignore you. Now if someone won’t stop bothering someone despite multiple clear attempts to get someone to respectfully leave them alone then sometimes people have to reach a point where they start ignoring someone especially those who feel as if they’re entitled to someone else.

It makes no sense to me why someone would pursue someone whose just not into them though. Why not find someone who is? Because even if they pick you at some point it’s probably going to be out of desperation and as soon as someone better comes along they’re gone.

So ghosting someone who you’ve asked to leave you alone is warranted. But people who just do it are cowards.

Rejection because you will have somewhat of a closure why things won't work out. However, it will hurt and take time no matter what if you really liked/loved this person.

Ghosting can be a numerous reasons that someone will always be curious about... and the person could be resurrected to make their return lol.

Ghosting gives you no closure. It causes you to wonder what the issue was that caused them to stop caring. Was it something about them or was it about you?

Though regardless of how it makes you feel, you should still move on as a person that ghosts you is not worth your time in the first place.

Yea rejection is definitely easier to move on from because at least you have an answer. Ghosting leaves you with no answer at all , leaving you dumbfounded as to why they ghosted you all of a sudden , I think people that Ghost people are selfish immature people that have no dignity or respect for anyone but themselves. With ghosting you’re left with questions
Did she find someone better?
Did I do or say something I shouldn’t have?
Did she get into an accident and die?
So on…

With a polite rejection along the lines of “I don’t think it’s gonna work, hope things work out for you, goodbye” all these questions are answered
Sure you might wonder why but it won’t drive you crazy

Naturally if it’s someone you’ve been seriously dating for a while I’d expect at least some kind of explanation it’s only fair

It’s easier to move on after being ghosted.. because if I’m ghosted by a female, I’m worthless to her, so why have sorrow for someone who’d rather see me dead? So I’ll move on quick.

If I get rejected or I’m constantly being rejected by someone I truly want, they’re acknowledging me, keeping my hopes up, burying the knife deeper.

If I’m rejected by someone I want to get with, someone I just met, they’re no one to me, I move on to the next person, it’ll just make me stronger

Ghosted kept things hanging.. you don't know excatly.. was it you.. was it them.. were they just afraid.. endless reasons.

Unlike rejection that has a clear reason if well-communicated. Which also if properly received allows you to grow, where sometimes it may push you to even try again and then get accepted. Growing if properly received anyway.

Honestly? I can kind of see both sides:

Ghosted: You're left wondering. You don't know what the fuck you did wrong because they just won't say. But at the same time, a really rude and mean-spirited rejection can cut really deeply, even more than ghosting. So ghosting is easier to move on from.

Rejection: You have an answer. You know exactly what the fuck you did wrong. But at the same time, being ghosted can kind of torture you psychologically, due to a state of not knowing. So rejection is easier to move on from.

If I was forced to pick just one or the other though... it depends on severity, but overall I'd say ghosting is easier to move on from, because the right words from rejection can really cut down deep on my self-esteem. So sometimes it's better to just not know.

Rejection. You don't give that much time and closure. In ghosting there's lots of time given, sudden stoppage/ignoring can be confusing, cowardly act.
