Is it true that on dating apps women can select a height preference yet men can't select a weight preference for the type of women they want? why?

There are many dating sites and every one of them is different in some way. I used dating sites extensively until I met Miss Helen in December 2020. Before that time, I don't remember any dating sites letting guys choose a weight range, but I do remember at least one site allowing guys to choose preferences for body type (such as skinny, athletic, "curvy," etc.) But, of course, what you get depends on the honesty of women when creating their profiles, and body type is probably the most misrepresented feature on profiles.
My friend had that happen to him. The lady put up an old pic from when she was thinner. He met up with her and she was over weight. He was upset bit said he still had dinner with her and after he told her due to her lack of honesty he prefers not to speak to her again
I'd say its a bit true For most apps I seen, I mean you can write it on your bio for specifics, but they just give you categories like "slim, average, built, curvy, and maybe bbw" but no specific numbers for their weight.
You're honestly lucky to find a real woman instead of a bot or a catfish. But another thing is with time and effort a lot of people can change their weight. Honestly I don't mind my girlfriend eating as much as she wants to me a woman with meat on her bones means she's healthy and not too thin or frail. But it is awful for us guys that are in the swipe left range for height, there's no changing height. If there's fewer and fewer women willing to date guys your height then you're just out of luck.
Didn't realize it's been years since I've used a dating app. If this is the case, they both should have equal preferences. Lol. But I've never seen the height option before, must be new feature.
Everyone has right to select people from their preferences or type. Especially on the dating app, if you don’t like someone base on the appearance just don’t swipe right, what’s so hard.
Girl learn to read lol.

Probably depends on the app but I don’t use them anyways so I wouldn’t know. People have double standards sometimes those people limit their own options.
I was never on dating apps. I don't know how that works. Does the bio section of a woman say: 5'5" 125 pounds or 175 pounds or is it all a mystery?
You just look at the pics and see what she looks like when you show up for the date?
I do know most women would get offended and start shaming a guy for asking.
She can ask how tall, how much do you make and that is fine.
If a guy is like how much do you weigh, how many guys have you slept with, that is a big no no in their eyes and men "shouldn't care".
LOL. Logic and rationality isn't always on their side.
I was able to select anything I wanted, but ultimately I swiped until zero women were left.
Picking these choices reduces matches by a ton:
Atheist
Not fat
Doesn't drink
Doesn't smoke
Doesn't do drugs
Doesn't have kids
Doesn't want kids
In the United States
But those are requirements so... yeah..
At one point I got desperate and switched it to global.. I had so many matches in Japan, China, Taiwan, Philipines, The UK, Russia, and Australia.
It was nuts.
I have never used a dating app, so I have no clue, but that really wouldn't surprise me.
After all, that would be "offensive" for a man to have that option, since it's "body shaming." Yet women can select height, and probably salary & penis size, but that's just A-OK for a woman to have those options.
Dating is nothing but an endless series of double standards and hypocrisy, now, and it's just going to keep getting worse until men stop putting up with it.
There’s no weight filter because the app doesn’t ask for your weight when you create an account (so that they don’t lose users aka money)
But you can filter on physical activity and diet preferences which is a good way to weed out the excessively unhealthy cases
It won’t remove all of them but to be fair anyone can lie on a dating app about height weight or anything else
On many there is a weight option , personally I dont fill that in , and thats because I've seen some very fit women at 60kg , but there are also horrendous ones , height and muscle making the difference , and I love fit babes..
Although here , most fit will not weigh much , but my friends wife for example tall with a genuine 6 pack.. Wow !
It was me 😅 I was only referring to FaceBook dating, which I’m on.. and you can only filter her age, kids or no kids, her height..
They can filter our height.. but us men don’t care about height, so they shouldn’t give us that option.. they should give us a weight limit.
My car is lowered, it has a weight limit or else it’ll scrape
men dont only have a weight preference, they also only want to date women in their 20s.
then come to GAG to say their standards are low
Aaaaahhhh!!! This communication right here. You brought up a good point. I'll dive into this too. Right now some men are trying to nail me to the cross sense its there turn to be called out lol 😆. See my latest post for that. Some comments deleted
Dating apps put men at an extreme disadvantage numerically. Apps favor women which means they can be selective and men really cannot. So most men tend to take a shotgun approach anyways and sort it out for the matches only.
Even if they could select a weight preference there are women that cat fish or will only provide photos from the chest up and vice versa for men
Just another... of many... reasons to avoid dating sites. Go and meet people out in the real world.
Yeah I was reading on reddit too some guy was saying that he met the girl in person she was like 200 lbs yet her picture was her when she was skinny lol
I don't date but I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. Every lard ass is "beautiful" these days.
Not been on dating apps in a decade but I don't ever remember there being a height preference selection
Men are demonized for their preference, while women are allowed to have whatever preferences they want, even if they are unrealistic.
I don't have any experience with dating apps. I only recently got a smartphone. But I used to try free dating sites. They never worked for me.
On most dating apps you can't select the weight you're attracted too but height you can
I just checked on tinder, there's no option for weight. Even with premium.
Some app probably lock that option behind a paywall. But it's widely known we can't have a choice for it in general.
Im not a fan but i have checked some out. The only things i could choose were age and location distance.
Yeah. It’s not a thing. Doesn’t matter, if I see a big one I’m not swiping right
No correlation between height and weight? If we can pick height they should be able to pick height too. Why are we comparing apples & oranges im confused
Are you dense? I can tell when a woman hasn't gotten our much ans never had any relationships. Men don't care about height. Men are focused on body
*out , and never
They don't expect the large ones to be honest about their weight.
well they can simply look at her and say ”ur too fat, i won't date u” nothings stopping them🤷♀️
There is a preferred body type, but not a preferred weight... also, it depends on the app.
Yeah you have to pay to have that option on OKC and Tinder
The dating apps are crap
There is a weight option. Woman just lie.
I believe it is Dating apps are Ridiculous
The dating apps are crap
I don't use them, so I don't know.
probably true, the guy always get it
