New boyfriend doesn’t want to get married in the future but I do?

I (27f) have been dating someone (28m) for a month and been in a relationship for 5 days.

he said to me this morning “do you ever want to get married” I said “yes, do you?” And he said “no, I wouldn’t want to split what I have 50/50. But I guess if they wanted to then I would”.

I’m already getting doubts. What do you think?

Either you find someone else of you sign a prenup to alleviate his fears. Even a that a good lawyer can still tear it apart. If he’s worth a good amount of money he’d be wise to do so, even if the female was worth a good amount of money I think she should do the same. Signs prenup. Now if you just both have a couch, basic stuff, not much money I don’t see a point in filing one. If you’re sure the two of you will stay together forever I don’t see why signing one would be a big deal. But again like I said if you two don’t have much no need to sign one. Most men know that when it comes to divorce he’s probably going to get screwed, so I can understand his fears again if he has a lot of money. So either sign one or move on.

A reasonable concern at that age


I’m 27 and work very hard to build my own little empire I wouldn’t just wanna throw away half of it to a woman who didn’t even help me build it


That’s not to say I wouldn’t wanna be married in the future it’s just not in the cards right now


And if you love the guy not his money you’d kill the dilemma by signing a prenup

There are things in relationships that you just cannot compromise: marriage and babies. There are things you either want or you don’t and there’s no in between. By staying with a man who doesn’t want to get married, you’re robbing your future self of that experience and I don’t think keeping a man/woman is worth such a sacrifice. It’s literally only been a month and I know you haven’t fallen so deeply in love after 3 weeks that you can’t walk away.

Those statement are always fact and unlikely to change for the better. It does sometimes end with marriage but most relationship psychologists will tell you they don't stay married for long.. if that is important to you listen to what he is saying is fact and act accordingly
