If you have ever liked the idea of someone, what do you think kept you from full on being attracted to them?

They had some major issues

We had major incompatibilities personality wise

They had checked some boxes but not enough for me to really want them

liking the "idea" of someone is... idealizing someone, that's more of infatuation or a crush... some might be really attractive and I could see how attractive they can be, however... for me to actually feel attracted to someone, I need to know that someone for more than the idea I do have about them

If they had some major life issues. There was a girl I liked and we ran into each other at a party. I could tell she was really interested in me. I found out she was going away to school in a few weeks so I steered clear.
