Guys, when you are on the prowl, looking for a potential dating partner, do you want to find a girl who has

low self-confidence, because she will try harder to please you,

quiet self-confidence, because it is usually easier to co-exist with such a woman, or

a woman who is cocky and arrogant, because a strong woman is sexy and perhaps will be a fiery vixen in bed?

I'd go with B because it's the healthier option, not because it's easier. The other two types do have their appeals, but they appeal my worst personality flaws.

That said, I did go out yesterday with a woman who fits the calm confident type, and I have to say we had a very pleasant evening; she comes from a similar situation to mine and our expectations match, we already made plans for a second outing.

By the way - thanks this site for the unnecessary Cloudflare crap that deletes my answers, between this and the obvious bots spamming the site I am truly considering leaving. Site is borderline unusable for me.

There is obviously a middle here the same as there is with men. Overly arrogant people are rarely ever truly confident. They act that way to mask how insecure they really are on the inside.

There is also more insecure people who turn to using sympathy as a means of manipulation but they don’t genuinely want to ever get better. There is insecure people who are struggling who also aren’t bad people who want to take it out on others. They genuinely want to be better.

So it depends. True genuine confidence isn’t arrogance. That’s usually the opposite. Confident people generally want to see others be confident as well and don’t feel the need to be putting others down. They are enough with who they are. They don’t need to put someone down for instance to feel superior.

Confidence isn't a top-tier factor in what men look for in women. Most men would consider this a secondary consideration at best. As such, it's probably not that important to focus on this as a factor, at least until you've got the important ones figured out.

That said, I'd guess that most men would probably pick quiet confidence.

I have found that most women who appear to lack self confidence actually have quite a bit of hedden, or potential confidence. They grow dramatically and thrive when in a relationship where they have security and comfort.

It is my opinion these women will be most loyal and appreciative of the person who took notice and allowed them to bloom.

It is not about manipulation though surely some partners seek an easy, controllable mark. This is the risk for these women and smart ones will recognize a manipulator and get out soon enough.

Quiet self-confidence for sure. Low self-confidence just creates unhealthy dynamics. And arrogant/cocky is just exhausting to deal with long-term. Someone who knows their worth but doesn't need to prove it constantly is way more attractive. Plus they're usually better at actual communication and don't play games.

Attraction wise , I have seen my interest in the three traits you describe, and I had opportunities to debate over what to do with that. Relationship wise , I have been with somewhat, probably, those three traits. And I'm saying traits, because I haven't seen anyone really incarnating the archetypes presented above. No one is lacking self-confidence in all spheres of a person's life, an arrogant profile has weak points they are overcompensating, and this quiet confidence always hides some skeletons in the closet/cupboard. It's just a matter of time before I identify them.
