Whether or not I pay for a date has nothing to do with whether she will have sex with me. I always expect to pay for the first date, but I also expect her to offer to pay her half. If she doesn't, she will be usually won't get a second date. The only exception is if I get the sense she may be a more traditionally minded woman, in which case if I like her I'll ask her out on a second date. But if she's a so-called modern woman and she expects me to pay for dates, I always kick her to the curb. I hate hypocrites.

I would hope so. Sex is not something you earn by paying for dates. You pay for dates to enjoy the pleasure of her company and then if and when she’s ready then you have sex. Preferably not until you’re settled into a seriously committed relationship, to avoid players who will lie right up until they get what they want.

Nah, either way, that is saying one person's time is more valuable than the others. Courting has nothing to do with finances. If she pays, then that is saying his time is more valuable. Plus, that is a cop out because 99% of the time, the male is asking out the female, not the other way around. I wouldn't let someone pay for me in this context. That is disrespectful to say my time is more valuable just because of my gender.

@jahaims I disagree. And yes, 99% of the time it is the guy. If a guy (or girl) wants to go out with me, they need to pay for the date. If we end up in a serious relationship then it’s different. But in the beginning absolutely. And I am a feminist about many things, just not about dating.
