I understand. You think if I didn't like her and didn't respect her, I wouldn't have gotten in a relationship with her and been with her for this long. She probably thinks "Easy? Why would he say that? So, that's what he thinks of me?" I don't know how good your girlfriend is at handling jokes/light roasts but just try to talk to her and tell her how much she means to you. That should calm her down.
