Do women really go for broad shoulders and big biceps on men?

Even if the man was average in looks would he still get your attention if he was well built with broad shoulders and large biceps with toned abs.

I guess that is all relevent isn't it? Define big biceps. What would be the circumference that would be considered big? As long as he is not skin and bones or overweight and unhealthy anything will do. I already find most guys to be broad in the shoulders but that is a comparison to me. I have a more slender frame so obviously guys in general look bigger to me and that includes their shoulder span. As for the bicep thing I don't need some guy that goes to the gym 10 times a week and stands there pumping weights while he admires himself in those gaudy floor to ceiling mirrors the gyms have. I tend to pass right by that weight area without even paying attention to the guys admiring themselves or showing off (trying to) to girls. So that is not something that would be important to me.

I don't know who that man is that you mention. Toned is perfectly fine. Shows he keeps in shape. I am all about being healthy and would want my partner to be the same.

I agree with you completely. Just simply being healthy is good enough. No need for some crazy body that you have to live at the gym to get. Just someone that takes care of themselves and has healthy habits and keeps in general good shape.

I can only speak for myself when I say that broad shoulders and big biceps don't do anything for me. I am not the kind of superficial person that pays attention to those unimportant aspects of a human being.

For me, a person becomes interesting to converse with when I see that he (or she) has a great intellect, good personality and outstanding character. Those are the only 3 factors that I place importance to. The rest is not important because biceps and broad shoulders tend to become less with age.

What good is a person that has an IQ of 60, that is unable to have a decent conversation and that has no personality but a lot of muscles? To me, that is not the kind of person I would want to be associated with.

And masculinity isn’t necessarily being a “barbarian” it’s about a demonstration of self discipline and strength in character


A strong healthy body shows both these things


That’s why a “poser” who’s jacked on steroids will be repulsive to many women
While someone who’s strong fit but very low-key about it will be a magnet to them


The short answer is “yes”
But don’t think that it’s all it takes
Or that you can’t get women if your shoulders are genetically narrow

MANY women are attracted and pursue men that are tall, strong, etc. No 6 pack needed (often people with 6 packs are weaker and just look more toned, but have significantly less strength). They also like a deep voice, green or blue eyes, and White men. All of those things greatly increase interest from the majority of women. Ignore the mostly dishonest ones on here because real life experiences prove otherwise from what some on here often claim.

Meeeh. It's not the first thing I look at, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that a nice strong arm doesn't make me feel safe and taken care of, you know? It's just the instinctive desire for a masculine vibe to counteract my feminine vibe. Doesn't have to be the overdone "gym rat" level, though.

I look at aesthetic harmony based on targeted topographical mixtures and mental ambiance when I assess physical attractiveness, I do not measure beauty by predetermined anatomical features or idealized muscle ratios.

I'm not into giant biceps. All over good body tone is more reasonable to me. But there are fans of the giant bicep, broad shoulder thing. Good core strength is solid, though.

The thing that broad shoulders advertizes is male sexual maturity, which is why that would be generally appealing to other sexually mature people. But big biceps are "show," sort of like big tits. (size doesn't indicate better functioning) They don't indicate working strength for the body size of the person or flexibility, which are part of general strength.

So, what I'm saying is BALANCED strength, all-over muscle tone and flexibility are more appealing to me than one set of oversized muscles.

I'd say there's truth to the broad shoulders (open to interpretation what constitutes broad) and secondly 🥈 biceps may vary.

On a woman, I like adorable small shoulders, adorable smallish biceps (I don't want a gym lady, yet I don't want someone weaker than me - lol) 🤭😅
