What's the point of dating these days? It seems dating is about hook up culture, no plans , no effort, no consistency, mixed signals, no courting, no morals, no values, etc..

Am I wrong for not entertaining dating all together? Rejecting dates and relationships? I no longer have the time to weed through men to see who's even worth a date, my time, energy, etc

But here is the long answer. I know that by "dates" you mean the romantic vetting of potential partners. This question is as retarded as asking "why does poop stink in 2025"?

It's never been about effort or values.

You complain about "hookup culture"? Just what in the world do you expect when you meet a person of the opposite gender whom you never talked to? If you were not a rabid horn dog, you wouldn't be in a hurry to "date" a stranger in the first place.

You'd first get to know a person, and then if your criteria matches, you date them.

"Dating" is not a step for meeting new people. Dating is a mini vacation with a friend you're already in a close relationship or friendship with.

Otherwise it's called an appointment. Or if sensations are still involved but they are a stranger, then it is a hookup.

Now ask yourself: does the ideal date in your mind involve a stranger? Then it's not a date. Does it involve sensations? Then it's not an appointment. Then it must be a hookup that you yourself are looking for. Even if a delayed hookul where the goal of getting laid is set back into the 3rd date.

Your primary motivator for going on this date is the craving of sensations. Not the goodness of charscter of this person, because how could it be, when you don't even know this person.

Let me rephrase it into a sensible version, what you should truly be asking: are there no people in 2025 who have the same values as me?
