6 moI’d say false , more of an ego reassurance in my opinion , “ if she is mad at me that means I must matter !” For me it speaks to experience as a child or that of previous relationships like “familiar chaos”. so….. if a partner is then not emotional or angry / upset then the relative calmness feels like indifference and not the passion and chaos that a person has been taught equals love … which may also mean that things are then done to cause that chaos.. any attention is better than indifference attitude that may even stretch to a person blowing up their life by causing drama ! …. None of this means love.. just an emotional problem with how people have been taught in bad relationships through no real fault of their own
Anger isn’t proof of love , love shows in how someone handles conflict not whether they explode and start shouting at you and getting upset
Of course I’m not saying that a perfect relationship contains no arguments by contrast … as it’s about communication , taking the time and taking plainly when things need to be addressed , being respectful and calm and not being punished by the dreaded silent treatment in return and the sweeping it aside without understanding why conflict happened in the first place. The ability to communicate and clearly express yourself is fundamental to relationships , not just listening but actually being understood.
It’s the partner who rarely gets mad or upset because they know how to regulate their emotions … that’s the keeper !00 Reply

6 moI think being indifferent is one of the worst signs. That someone’s lost care good or bad…. They are simply existing and probably have moved on long ago.
Though, if positive emotions are expressed without tons of negative speaking long term that’s good. I think something too good to be true early on needs to be watched. Maybe she really is amazing…. Let time speak for itself. If it fades after a while and she keeps rushing the relationship or leaves. Well… you got your answer.
I think you’re right. Too good to be true early on…. Hold on a while. Someone can’t fake it forever. Eventually their true colors will shine.

But also. Avoid women who bring drama and toxicity too fast as well. That leads to major issues later too.
Some people fake it for different reasons. Some people… also fall into fantasies projecting things into you. Just for later…. They become resentful. And leave or cheat. Maybe both.
927 opinions shared on Dating topic. It's so much better to be in a relationship that's not chaotic. A nice peaceful, easy going relationship is nice whenever you're spending time together.
I think that you've been in such chaotic relationships too many times and for way too long, and now you feel more attracted to those types of women because they are "familiar" to you.
But you don't know what you're missing be not when you're with someone who isn't like a landmine that you never know when she's going to blow!32 Reply
6 moI think having small arguments in a relationship is normal, and if there is NO arguments or TOO MANY arguments then there is an issue. No arguments could mean that they don't really care enough about you or the relationship to argue and debate with you over things, yet too many arguments could mean that they are very unsatisfied or just a very unstable, easily angry person.

u 6 mofalse in my case...
with two of them (the first and the last girlfriend) I would never fight nor argue, no drama... we just got along quite well, and they were extremely chill WITH ME, they were moody about other things, sure... but that wasn't about me, lmao, no cheating, no BS...
if a girl cheated on you, maybe it wasn't about you... maybe they were just cheaters
cheaters gonna cheat, always20 Reply True definitely. When I was with my husband and in love I'd do anything not to make him mad. Towards end after I fell out of love I was like so different. I were things I knew would make him question or jealous but I didn't care then.

And he eventually got sick of it and left you. Typixal
- 6 mo
Well the last part sucks. But yeah… I think he just got tired of the drama until there wasn’t a fight left.
Not angry… not sad. Already grieved. Alreadh decided. Not happy…. Completely indifferent and over it - 6 mo
Based on what you said. I think I’m right…. Many people go through phases. Phases of anger. Sadness. Grief. Resentment.
And eventually if it doesn’t end in one of those periods. Complete indifference…. They mentally checked out long ago. Decided it wasn’t worth it anymore to become overly emotional. Even if they haven’t physically left.
People are scared to leave. Well they put all this effort in. What will happen? My money assets being split. What happens to the kids. All those questions. So they stay…. Even if they have become completely indifferent. - 6 mo
I mean this happens…. People intentionally provoke their partner. Jealousy. Angry… etc.
eventually people just emotionally check out. Whatever…. It doesn’t get to them. They’re done. - 6 mo
@Summeroflove I agree. I fell out of love but stayed 3 years cos of our daughter so it was a slow checking out. At times there was a little spark and I thought there was hope but he wouldn't do anything to try save us. Not cos he checked out at that point. He just couldn't comprehend takes two to make a relationship work and having children makes it even more important to feel supported and feel like a woman not just a mother.
- 6 mo
And that happens a lot too…. I think he was checked out being honest. I don’t like the fact he isn’t there for his daughter.
But it does seem like you too at some point. Knew the relationship was over before it was over. You stayed for your daughter and to be honest. Leaving is scary. Reminiscing too and hoping the past will come back. The fear is what happens divorce is messy. Assets.
Will you be thrown in the street with nothing? Will you take everything? It’s hard questions. - 6 mo
I mean. Someone not making any effort anymore. They probably checked out… and some people are also just one sided.
- 6 mo
@Summeroflove he was an alcoholic. He let me lead the entire relationship. Decide to get married, decide to move out my mums, decide to learn to drive. He wasn't mean or nasty. In fact he was just too easily led and placid, couldn't say no to people so I had to be the dominant partner and I was 12 years younger than him. It mattered less when it was just the two of us. But when you have a child the mother needs support. I couldn't manage everything and got burned out and depression. He just seemed happy to tick along. Even now he is in same job, living in a bedsit and drinking and we broke up 2010. I did keep his alcoholism contained when we were together. And reason he rarely saw his daughter was because he could not separate her from me. Seeing us upset him too much. Yet there was a window after we broke up where I thought we could get back together but again he never put in the effort to show me he wanted it bad enough. He turned up drunk at 1am banging on the door after we had had a nice lunch out. I knew then it was a deadend.
- 6 mo
It seems like he genuinely didn’t care then. And seems like you burnt out. One sided relationships suck…
People stay because they feel obligated. Feel bad for their spouse. And everything. But you can only take so much. Yeah I understand - 6 mo
People get married for the wrong reasons. Even though he wasn’t physically abusive. It seems that…. He was using you.
And they will just completely drain you. - 6 mo
Until someone realizes. They put someone first…. And never get that in return. Do everything for someone and get little to none…. Including even a thank you or sone aprication
Then people wonder. What about my needs? My wants? I’m doing everything for him/her. But not getting anything back.
Yeah I think that’s valid. - 6 mo
Some people aren’t even mean…. Yeah they just show little effort. Make someone else do everything. And completely exhaust themselves until they can’t take anymore.
- 6 mo
@Summeroflove to be honest it hurts to think he would have just been with and married any woman really. He didn't think any woman would have him so he was kinda grateful but he doesn't have it in him to really feel love I don't think.
Worse thing is I've had three abusive men since him cos I now look for a dominant guy but dominance without abuse is something men struggle to comprehend. In fact "dominance" is probably the wrong word. I just want a partner who doesn't need hand holding to make decisions and can have that leadership quality without completely taking away your choices.
Sadly I feel my time is disappearing to ever find a genuine relationship :( - 6 mo
That hurts and believe me some people aren’t honest. Some people (men and women) get married for the sake of getting married.
They aren’t honest. At least if two people agree that thhere getting married out of desperation and for the sake of having kids etc. that’s one thing. But they rarely are - 6 mo
Most people will pretend to be in love. Because at the end of the day they diddnt find the person they wanted. Doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you…. It’s just that they settled.
Not that you’re less than…. But many people really get married because they’re desperate to be married. - 6 mo
It also comes down to compatibility. You and him wanted different things… but in the beginning. People can pretend to be really anything they think you want.
Until…. Boom you’re married and they can’t take it all the time anymore
2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Completely false, it can happen of course but to me if she doesn't get mad and just voices her concern thats a sign of a well functioning relationship. I measure interest in different ways.
00 Reply478 opinions shared on Dating topic. I will say false. Maybe you avoid fights because you are fortunate to have a positive relationship where problems are discussed and communicated before people get upset.

6 moTrue.
I prefer they show anger with me if they're upset that not because at least then it means they still have faith that I can change whatever is wrong.

01 Reply- 6 mo
Yea that’s pretty much how I knew I was getting laid with my ex , she would start an argument with me over dumb shit and get me to a point I was pissed off at her , so I would walk away from her and go into another room , and shortly after that she would come in and apologize if you know what I mean , this went on for years , until she no longer came to apologize after an argument, so I knew my relationship with her was no longer good lol
6 moMostly true I think
