Is there any truth to the whole "if a girl gets mad at you its because she cares?"

SOme of my female friends have told me that when they "get mad" at me, that they want me to try and make things better etc. Is there any truth to that? They are my friends, of course I'll try but what about a girl who isn't officially my friend but she gets mad at me a lot and we seem to disagree and have playful arguments? She has told me she doesn't care much about me but she admitted to me that sometimes the things I say (which she says she doesn't care about) make her cry (its nothing too bad, I just can be a jerk at times) :S and I think that's a bit too much for a guy she doesn't care about...

WELL, if a girl starts telling you how to treat her or is upset by an action of yours, then she's "grooming" you to become her BF, assuming that you're there, in front of her, to apply for that position in the long-run.

Then again, for some girls, it's important to inform any guys hanging out with them about general behavioral protocols, views and expectations because they have standards for anyone who hangs out with them. If you don't "fall in," they reserve the right to be upset with you. It doesn't mean she has STRONG feelings for you, but she's testing the waters because she's receptive to being your friend. The tides might turn either way during this period of your acquaintance (friend, enemy, or BF/GF).

For me..? Yeah.

I can never be angered, or affected really, by a guy I don't care about. Even if that one pushes my buttons I have no trouble keeping my cool and walking away.

But when I have feelings for him, he can hurt me easily by doing or saying something mean, because I pay attention. When he does something stupid or dangerous, I get scared and just want to scold him for being an idiot. When he teases me I get embarrassed easily and that makes me want to push him away or hit him lightly, because I'm flustered, then annoyed and not sure how to respond.

So by the way she has acted (telling me she doesn't care what I do or say and them getting upset when I ignore her) is she saying she does care? I mean we ge along and have fun but she can be cold at times but she is not a cold person to anybody else, she tells me I make her that way, whatever that means lol

It really depends on each girl as well as each situation.. For me, I get more upset when I care about the person and the situation.

She told me one time that she didn't care what I did or say and after that I started ignoring her and being kind of a jerk to her. She got upset and to this day she keeps reminding me. Does that sounds like she cares?

Well I don't like that she keeps on reminding, it's like she's holding it over your head... But if she truly was hurt by it, this could be how she expesses it.
