How often have you turned someone down due to not having anything in common/enough common interests?

If I lack things in common I loose interests super quick, its natural for me. If there is nothing substantial to talk about I just can't bring myself to it. If all she can contribute is the fact that she went to the mall that day and my only logical question is "Oh? What did you buy?" thats a conversation that I can stretch to maybe 5 minutes. It adds nothing of substance I can deep dive into and then it gets stuck if there's nothing else.

But a girl who I have things in common with or who likes deep topics? We can spend time for hours and still not run out of subjects. Even if that girl also just went to the mall that day once the mall subject ran out either of us would just throw in something interesting and we just spiral from topic to topic. And if we run out of topics we can then just do a hobby together.

It happens but being completely honest… it’s not just for me. A woman may be amazing as a human being someone that I can genuinely respect and like as a person. Therefore, not only am I not going to waste my time I’m not wasting hers either.

If I know that she isn’t compatible she wants different things from a relationship. Has different needs and has different boundaries. Then it wouldn’t work. In some cases you can work through things, but sometimes if I know we can’t.

But common interests too. Look, if you’re someone who wants a best friend. It’s harder when you don’t have anything in common. Not saying it can’t work

I can't tell you how many times I was talking to a guy, who we had nothing in common with, but because he thought I was hot he kept on chasing me. That's all that mattered to him. Admittedly I don't have a lot in common with most straight men.

That has always been the main reason to reject someone. It will never work long-term if you have nothing in common.

never really... the more I get to know someone, the more I find out things in common with them... surely not everything no, and maybe not our main interests but there's definitely some parallels
