Dating advice fof talking stage?

So i talked to a guy on a dating app and we connected really fast. We switched off the app to talk somewhere else bc he asked and i told him in the dating app long before like in the beginning of the talking stage that i lived in a another country. He said it was fine and even mentioned coming to my country so and he planned to take me out on a date. He asked a lot about me and seemed interested. We had deep convos etc. However sometimes he would reply slowly taking days which made me confusing and he said he was sorry about it and wrote a long essay and asked for forgivesness. After about 4 months i asked him if he was genuinly interested or if he had other options.

He said he enjoyed his time with me and said i was an amazing person and he would more than love to move forward with me but bc of distance he dont know if we could continue this convo or possible relationship and he also mentioned he was kind of seeking a valentine and i asked him like if he was coming to my country and he said there had been a mixed up like he had misunderstood bc he was going with his family and it was another country instead. So I don't know if he was ever being genuine or what that was.

Most people will discourage distance but I’ve seen or heard it worked. Just like any other dating or relationships, people need to show actions and not just words. He could’ve been genuine at some point and realized it’s harder than he thought, or he could’ve just been playing the field.
What’s important is that you now know where he’s at… he feels uncertain about distance and he’s not coming to see you. With that knowledge, do what you think is best for you and protect your heart:


1) You can keep talking to him with no expectations and slowly see where it goes/detach. 2) you can also hold onto your standards and tell him what you’re looking for and it may not be here if he’s not showing you that he can be sincere. Aka time to move on 3) communication: asking what are his concerns about distance and see if you both can resolve it or reassure him.

My advice is look for someone local. LDRs don't work, as you are finding out.
