You should date at least until you have had a few significant disagreements. That’s when people let their guard down and show their true colors. Unless she is from another country and you need to for her to be able to immigrate and live with you, there is no benefit for men at all to get married, but there are severe repercussions for it. Even then, make sure you get a prenuptial agreement saying that you get to keep any financial accounts with your name attached. The same goes for a house, and vehicles you buy with your name on them, pets, etc. MOST women are thieves and if she gets upset at the mention of a prenuptial agreement, that proves she is one too.

That depends on how you treat him. That is the main villain in your question. If you start to act as if he is an ATM, or don't respect him as a man and his decisions for both of you, then you can be waiting for a long time.

A man embraces love differently than how a woman would embrace it. For a woman, you need assurances of his love, feel that you are being embraced by him, to be seen together with him by holding hands, to cuddle and to do things together, as well as gifts to make you feel special.

A man needs far fewer things, but men, we need respect. Respect in the form of you following him since you want him to be your protector in life, to stand up for you and keep you safe, even when you're home with him and doing casual things. But in order for him to do that, you need to follow his example and respect his wishes and rules in life. Of course, the rules in the relationship are between two partners, but he should have the last word because he is your protector.

Other than that is sex. If you rarely give him sex, then you can wait for the rest of your life. We men, are in our most vulnerable state when we are naked with our woman, and how we embrace love is through sex.

Why do you think that so many marriages end because the man has been in a sexless marriage? He is doing most of the work anyway, so what's the problem?

If I felt that I was ready , the relationship was ready and I wanted to , I would ask a woman to marry me. Assuming she said yes , within a year of being engaged we would marry.
