How do I move from acquaintance to dating without being seen as just a friend?

When I was single, on a first date, I would hold hands with a girl and ask questions about what she wanted to find in a long term partner. And at the end of the date, if I felt she would be receptive, I would give her a goodnight kiss. I would also tell her that I would call her in the next day or two and I hoped we would be able to schedule a second date. . . a "date," not hanging out or chillin'!

I left no room for doubt about the nature of my interest.

In my opinion people jerk around too much. Honesty is the best policy and I always prefer directness.
When I like someone I tell them. If a girl was ever direct and honest with me I would find that refreshing.
If you like this guy and you want it to be more than a friendship then tell him exactly that.
Simple line: “I really like you and I would like to be more then friends”

I can’t make any direct moves yet. I think he might’ve found me again on here. Figured out it was me by the way I spoke about situations between us. Neither of us can hit on each other until I finish my education. It’s too inappropriate and unprofessional. Especially not me. So I literally did nothing. When I think he found me on here and explained shyness, I explained that I am interested too but I can’t act on it until I finish tafe. I can’t even show signs of being interested.

Ok if you really like this person waiting isn’t ideal. If this guy is worth anything than other women are looking at him too. Maybe it’s inappropriate for you two to have sex now if he is your professor but at least let him know you are interested.
