Yikes, there are a lot of misinformed opinions on here. They seem to think we all have the same motivations as if we were a monolith.

If I am offering to pay it's because I just want to pay. That's it. I don't want him to come back and say he will do it. I'm not "shit testing" him. I just want equality, remember? I don't need or want to be handled like some fragile thing nor do I want the expectations that he is owed sex just because he paid for some food. I'd much rather go 50/50 though.

The idea that a man HAS to pay is outdated and that is no different if the man or the woman believe that. He is not a personal piggy bank for a free meal.
