How would you handle a date who spends the whole time on their phone?

This happened to me a while back. I was on a date with someone who i thought was alright. Less than 10 minutes into the date she's on the phone with someone, based on what i can hear of the audio, its another man. She was on the phone with him for more than 20 minutes before i left. We had ordered already. I walked up to my server, canceled my part of the order, and left. She texts me later pissed that i left her with her half of the bill, because she apparently didn't bring her wallet. I of course blocked her. Utter bullshit. Thankfully its the only time in my life i have ever experienced this, meaning its not common.

I’ve ended a date early due to the guy texting along with getting up and leaving at least 3 times and that was before we’d even ordered our food. I may have felt differently had he clarified what was going on, but without context it came off as flat out rude. Your situation sounded way worse, texting is one thing, I can’t believe someone would literally sit on a phone call like that during a date. So utterly ridiculous.

That is just rude. Text messages, Snap, emails etc. can just wait. Focus on the date and have fun instead!
