I was telling him a funny story about a woman settling for a man. He laid in bed with his eyes closed and said "you can settle for me" I immediately stopped talking and was shocked. I had no idea how to react since he read my mind. I WAS in fact settling for him. There was this really serious awkward silence with his eyes still closed. I started to pretend and said "why... why would you say that?" He muttered "just joking"... but I felt like due to the serious tone of it... it wasn't an actual joke.
