Why do women do all the cooking and cleaning around the house?

I dated a guy who would do none of that. He was the laziest dude I ever met. Dirtiest too. It was such a turn off I broke up with him. He never washed his dishes unless he ran out of dishes. He never did laundry until he ran out of clothes. I couldn't imagine doing all of that for him on a daily basis if we get married. So why do women tolerate that BS? No, I'm not a stay home mom. I work full time

Well first of all that’s probably the type of men you attract, so that’s a you thing. Not all men are like that. I could say the same thing about a lot of women I met growing up who I knew who didn’t cook or clean. But I won’t cause I know not all women are like that. I could complain that my wife doesn’t go outside to help me maintain our back yard as far as pruning our 6 trees. Cutting the grass in the front, the back, taking out the trash. Fixing the house when it needs to be fixed. I can complain that she never goes out to see what that noise was at night. There’s a million things that I as a man could complain about that women don’t do, but I won’t because I know we do different things. Are you going to help your man if you find one fix the car, do all the hard labor around the house, etc, etc. I could ask you the same question why do men put up w this BS from women. Maybe it’s you who needs to work on yourself to find a better man.

Yes I’m single w my wife of 20 years. Problem is you won’t say you’re not that tells me you are. Second you’re almost 30 so at your age if no man has picked you up by now, the issue is more than likely you, not them.

In my own case: my lady is a local (Thai) native and has no cultural understanding about my own hygienic expectations or tidyness standards (she's nice, though).

Therefore I leave the mess she creates to her own initiative and decisions.

Traditional women get provided a monthly allowance from their husbands to stay home to cook and clean. I don't get that from him so I'm not doing anything for him

So my wife and I got married in 1972. We lived out of one checking account. How that was spent was a discussion. It was spent for the families needs. I got no allowance and she got no allowance. The only time I breached that concept was on valentines and anniversary dates. I love to sail but our first boat was received as a gift when my cousin died. We were 68 at the time. I have always been an avid musician. She knew my wants and I knew hers. She bought all of my instruments and I did all the remodeling of the home. We were always 100% /!00% We did not even see movies or videos until the kids were gone. At this point we have been married 54 years I think some of you need to grow up.

You are an old fart, from totally different times. Women back then didn't grow with this H'ness and online endless attention, dating apps, crazy inflation, crazy income/expenses ratios, boomers such as yourself hogging up all the housing and messing up the laws/incomes, letting women vote etc etc.

It's part of being adult. Cleaning up your own messes, being able to cook, managing basic hygiene, washing your own clothes is the basics of life. If you can't do that, you're not an adult. You're a child. This Type of stuff isn't a woman's job. It's the basics of every person's life. Things your parents were supposed to ingrain into you to perform as a child. It's a poor reflection of your parent's parenting If you either don't know or refuse to do this.
