Types of people in high school
These are specific to my high school. In honor of breaking out of prison called high school, I decided to make this about my many encounters with people. I'm going to be stereotyping my high school soooo badly so please none of those negative comments about stereotypes. Ik I'm stereotyping my school.
The Jocks
Alright. I admit this is very typical, but it's a little different at my school. At my school, academics are pretty important. Any athlete here will tell you that if you want to make the sport, you MUST make the grades. The varsity players are mostly very smart. I would fit into this category because I'm an athlete, but I'm considered average because my GPA is 3.8.
Secondly, the jocks are usually the popular people on campus. Football(american) are like gods. If you date a jock, you know they have a decent body because fitness classes and hours of practice are mandatory! Not saying all are, but the serious sports are. It's very competative between the sports to see which sport can do the best in their sport. Usually soccer, basketball, or volleyball wins.
Sports are a big deal, everyone goes to the FB games and everyone does spirit wear on big game days. Athletes are both cocky and the nicest people I will ever know.
Overall, athletics are SERIOUS at my school.
Band teens
Our band is nationally known and plays in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. When these kids aren't in a class, they are practicing. They practice before school, after school, weekends, holidays, and summer. I have mad respect for every one of those kids. They eat, sleep, and breathe band. They sit with other band kids, take classes with them, and eat lunch with them. It's insane! But hey, they're doing what they love!
School sleepers
These people amaze me. They manage to fall asleep in ever. Single. Class. Like do they sleep at home at all? At my school there are two types of school sleepers. One type will fall asleep and fail every class and the other, falls asleep and literally beats the smartest kid in class who sits in the front and doesn't even blink. One of my friends fell asleep every day in physics my sophomore year and made a high A in the class.
Nerds
At my school, there's so many nerds, but they aren't typical nerds. A lot of them are decent looking, but they do dedicate their entire existence to learning. In my APUSH class, a group of "nerds" were saying how upset they were with their GPA of 4.0.
It's a competition in my school to see who can have the best grades. I got in a competition with a guy in my honors lit class to see who could get the best grade (I won) 97-94. And in my math class, the guys are always shouting out their grades to prove who's best. Everyone is very competative with college as well. At pep rally's, a usual dis to the seniors is screaming the average schools in the state.
But if you want to find the valedictorians or the super smart kids, you won't find them! I have never seen the top ten kids at my school. Well, the valedictorian is an athlete, so I've seen number one, but the others are practically non existent. They're there, but you never see them because they are in ap classes, or library.
Classic slut/player
These people bother me to the moon and back. Girl or guy they are so annoying. I had to sit in class listening to a girl talk about her latest guy and I wanted scream "My virgin ears! They're bleeding!!!" It was awful. The classic slut for a girl at my school would be a a girl who giggles like a kid, walks around with a Starbucks cup, and has an orange tan. The classic guy player would most likely be a FB player, lanyard hanging from his back pocket, and own a Jeep Wrangler- don't ask why... Just is. Neither girl or guy player is well looked up to.
My grade level is known for having some very sexual teens. There was a scandal where a party was put on the Internet with most of the kids doing very BAD things.
Don't mess with me!
These people annoy me. There is so much aggression in these people. Almost every one of these people you come across, you can generally tell that they are very short. Being my tall self, I find it a little ridiculous. They are typically extremely loud and cuss every other sentence. Most of the time they travel in groups.There's not much else to say about them beside that if you value your hearing and ego, stay clear of the Don't mess with me's.
I'm more southern than you!
Being in a southern state, there are many competitions to see who is more southern. A usual sighting is a camo clothes, simply southern, vineyard vines, Patagonia, baseball hat(camo sometimes), football jersey, cowboy boots, and LOTS of trucks.
When leaving the school, a lot of the guys have big trucks with stickers on the back about hunting, fishing, rebel flags, and NRA (national rifle association stickers. The other popular vehicle is a jeep for mudding. We have football game themes of camouflage where guys wear camo pants and shirt or a camo pants or shorts with camo paint on their torsos and a bandana around their heads. The girls wear jean shorts or athletic shorts with camo shirts or tank tops with camo war paint on their faces and a camo bandana or baseball hat.
When are they not high?
There's a reason they call it heroine high... They know they're high, the students know they're high, even the teachers know they're high! The funny thing is, they are some of the funniest people I know. Being someone who has never even seen a drug before, I find these people interesting because it's so different. No one really takes these guys seriously, but they are decent people.
I'm so outdoorsy and natural
This one and the "im more southern than you" are the most popular. If your not wearing a jersey or camo, you are wearing some type of outdoorsy brand. We are so consumed with hiking and exercise and nature that it becomes the most popular thing to do! "Wanna go hike the mountain?" "I was just about to ask you! I went this morning, but I'm dying to go again!"
Chacos are normal and duck boots are a must have. If you're a girl, you're walking around with infused water to go natural with your body or some type of tea.
But! With all the different kids, I gotta say it's a good mix. Pretty much everyone gets along. I enjoyed the different types of people. Sure, everyone had their many moments. Gotta remember...
We are all one big messed up family!
