Planning is the most important aspect of management. It is needed at every level of life. For example couples plan for the right number of kids to have, this is call familiy planning. Companies, and families make plans in line with income and aspirations. Individual are not left out when it comes to planning. In the absence of planning most activities becomes meaningless. Planning gives you an idea of how and what the day will look like. Planning helps you take control of your time, planning gives direction. With planning the objectives of the day are defined and set out. The obvious outcome of this is that we get a direction and all efforts are focused towards achieving our set purposes. In this way, planning has an important role in the attainment of set objectives.
Planning is also done for future uncertainty. This is having a plan B, incase plan A fails. With the help of planning, possible changes in future are anticipated and various activities are planned in the best possible way. In this way, the risk of future uncertainties can be reduced. With planning, coordination is established among different activities and wasteful activities are eliminated. When wastage is elimanated or reduced, efficiency will be increased. Planning also promotes creativity, through cultivating the power of thinking and selecting the best alternatives. Through the process of thinking and planning we discover our best, work on it and become better managers and decision makers. This is one way of self discovery.
Before you step out of your house, make sure you plan, take note of the important things like your job, your boss, your assignments and most importanly family and love ones. All of them are important, so have them in your plan. In as much you plan for yourself, plan for others too, and carry everyone along to eliminate selfishness.
