The Stressors of your desk job: Why are we always drained

Hey all
Hey all

As Im trying to get back on my feet with career change after leaving something I did for x amount of years, Im on the hunt for something else, I come across articles, which I dissect, and of course use as MYTAKEs..

https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/9/5/17818170/work-fatigue-exhaustion-psychology

Is this you?
Is this you?

So They finally came out with 2 reasons why this is happening:

Hypothesis 1: we get so tired because we deplete an internal store of energy

Hypothesis 2: we get so tired because our motivation runs out

To avoid any infringement. I will share "Mytake" and see if it relates.

Hypothesis 1- They state "Ego Depletion"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ego_depletion

refers to the idea that self-control or willpower draws upon a limited pool of mental resources that can be used up.When the energy for mental activity is low, self-control is typically impaired, which would be considered a state of ego depletion. In particular, experiencing a state of ego depletion impairs the ability to control oneself later on.

We have tasks to do, but we try and find ways to complete them. They also cite this:

The role of glucose as a specific form of energy needed for self-control has been explored by researchers. Glucose, a sugar found in many foods, is a vital fuel for the body and the brain.

Motivation..
Motivation..

Yes folks. The nectar of the gods is what keeps us to finish the daunting tasks. Coffee usually fixes the depleted energy (which is also the reason I went though 5-6 cups a day)

Hypothesis 2: we get so tired because our motivation runs out

The article states this "We become less motivated to do the task. We become drawn to the things we want to do (scrolling Instagram or reading music blogs, for instance), rather than the things we have to do. And this tension possibly causes fatigue"

When you are behind a machine for 8-9 hours a day, compiling data, you have other browsers open.

If your married or getting married, your looking for honeymoon ideas. Or if your single your looking for matches. Or even if your in relationships, you are fighting with your sig other on the phone.

High Stress work environments does not help in matters.

So basically. How do we avoid this. Try and avoid cliques, try and keep you life stable. And it should be ok (again I should take my own advice)
