Why I Value Low-Stress Lifestyle Over Rising up the Ranks at Work

I decided to create this post after one user said I lack ambition when I prefer having a low-stress lifestyle over rising up the ranks at work. Here are 4 reasons why I value having a low-stress lifestyle.

1. I Only Want to be Responsible for My Own Failure

If I rise up the ranks at work, I would have to take responsibility if one of my subordinates committed a costly blunder at work. Cleaning up a mess left by my subordinates would increase the chance of me feeling stressed out at work. Thus, I will turn down an opportunity for a promotion to a managerial position because I don't want to be responsible for my subordinates' blunders.

2. I Want to Have Time to Bond with My Friends & Families

The time I can use to bond with my friends & families would decrease dramatically if I rise up the ranks at work. By having less time to bond with my friends & families, I would feel very miserable. Hence, I will sacrifice an opportunity to rise up the ranks at work.

3. I Prefer Being Supportive Team Member

I am suitable as a person who helps a leader behind the scenes over becoming a leader at a work. By sticking to being a supportive team member, I will have a better time reducing stress because I can focus on what I excel in. Thus, I am only committed to helping a leader behind the scenes.

4. I Don't Want to Wreck My Health From the Stress of RIsing Ranks

I don't want to deal with repercussions such as burnout & heart disease caused by pressure from rising up ranks at work. By not rising up ranks, I reduce the risk of experiencing health problems resulting from increased pressure when I rise up ranks.
