1. Write things down

In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to be more organized. Write down anything you don't want to forget, and write down things you need to do. I prefer to write things down in my notes app on my phone. That way, once it's done, you can remove it and forget about it.

2. Be a minimalist, chuck out unwanted things

The more things you have, the more you have to manage. Any paperwork you don't need, anything else you don't need and especially don't want, throw it out. This can also apply to writing notes though, too many notes, paperwork, etc, it gets abit clustered and it will be harder to keep track. Only keeping what you need will you help you be more organized.

3. Be neat

Again related to the point above, be neat. Don't just leave things around in random places. Put relevant things together and try not to get things mixed up.

4. Be prepared

Being prepared for anything is a great way to stay organized. Have a job interview coming up? Organize and get anything you need ready for the job interview. Don't forget to bring things like your resume, and maybe write down a note to not forget it.

5. Sort and label

Similar to the points above, sorting and labelling things is a great way to stay organized. If your on a computer, put relevant things in a relevant folder such as documents, etc. If your working with paper, put them in relevant folders and label the folders, and separate them from the others.

6. Be efficient

We've all heard the phrase, work harder, not smarter, this also applies. It's better to have things on one document, than have a bunch of different things on different documents when you don't need to, as an example.

7. Less is more

Again related to the point above, less is more. The less things you have, it will be more easier to stay organized. If you don't need it, throw it out!

8. Put things in order

Everyone knows how to count. 1, 2, 3. Easy. Do the same with anything you have like documents, etc. Prioritizing also applies to this. The more important things should have more priority than the less important things.

9. Don't procrastinate

If you procrastinate, things will build up and the list of things you need to do will just get bigger. Get the things done that you need to as soon as possible, and then you can move on to the next thing, or just relax that you have nothing else to do.

10. Schedule things

Got something you need to coming up without a date? Give it a date! This also goes well with having goals, set dates for them and do it on that date. It's great for being organized as you know when you need to do something.
