When is fraternity/sorority hazing going too far?

I have my own experiences but some of the things I know other people have gone through is too much. What are stories you heard or have experienced that went too far?

The frat I joined I'd say is more like a club. Reason I joined was because they did lots of community service events and there was no hazing.

There were still like traditions and tasks but compared to what other frats has done it's like nothing.

Now with that said I still don't understand the point of frats and sororities. I think the whole greek crap should be abolished from colleges.

If you want to meet people just join a club or several clubs. The whole hazing culture is stupid and if you don't already know people have died doing extreme stunts. And it usually involves alcohol.

And there was even one very disturbing and cringey video I saw a long time ago where a bunch of pledges went outside a sorority's house and was chanting something along the lines of "we want pussy."

So yeah I think the whole thing is cringey and kind of dumb. I don't know why anyone would voluntarily be someone's bitch for the course of several weeks to be part of a douchey club of weirdos.

I'm guessing this has something to do with some tradition that is followed in U. S. high schools and colleges, because "hazing" simply never occurred at any of the schools I ever went to. I had to look up the word "sorority".

My girlfriend's sorority had a rather disgusting hazing which consisted of the following:

Pledges were all given water enemas and told to hold them as long as possible. Those who failed were out of the sorority. The only way to avoid being dismissed at that point was to consume the contents of one of the remaining girls who were still holding their water.

There was a lot of shit water consumed that night
