+1 yOh, heavens - WRITE!
When I got my MBA, we didn't have to do a Thesis (as in big, long piece of research). We had to study three business cases a week for fifteen weeks, had to write a small paper- ten or so typed pages on two of them- and be prepared to discuss the third. After awhile, it became easier and easier, almost to the point that I loved it. I said, "almost". ;- )13 Reply- +1 y
20 pages a week for 15 weeks - 300 pages for the term. I was just kind of showing the difference between a thesis (a big exploration ab out one topic) and what we had to write about our case studies. In my opinion, if you are in business and you can't "state your case" in a couple of pages, you need a new job. The rest is details. It's the details that will require more writing. So, there IS STILL a lot of writing for an MBA, just a different kind that requires a wider focus.

I like studying better.
I find it so difficult to make the papers. To think of a topic, make the questions and I really hate to do interviews and talk to strangers.
I also have dyslexia and they are very strict about spelling because it has to look professional, but I just don't notice my spelling mistakes and I don't like to ask friends and family everytime to check. With papers it's even worse because they usually have 30 pages.15 Reply

Study for exams. The reason is that exams are often multiple choice and scored by a computer program so there is no bias.
A written paper is scored by a person and they often have bias in my experience.11 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yWell, once you get into grad school, you really don't have a choice but to just write papers. You get used to the APA format and it begins to feel a bit odd in not having to add references to anything you write. Studying for exams is just practicing for math and reading for everything else, and getting pissed for either leaving something out or doing something stupid like forgetting to carry over the negative sign.
10 ReplyI'd rather write a paper. Not only because I feel that gives me much more control when it comes to the result but also because I feel doing so guarantees a higher level of learning. At the very least what you write you read and studied.
10 ReplyI love writing in general. Despite my terrible typos I was rated in the he top 2% of students for writing and comprehensive reading in the state of Delaware for SAT scores... my math was in the lower half though 😂

+1 yI am writing papers now and I actually prefer it. I like having clear objectives to work on and complete within a set time before a deadline that I have figured out. Studying for exams is much more a looming chore.
10 ReplyWhen I was your age I was still taking tests toward my bachelor's, while studying for my next rank in the Coast Guard, PLUS still performing my duties, AND keeping my wife as satisfied as I could under the circumstances.

+1 yWriting, especially if it’s creative. Even if it’s research, I’d still prefer writing over studying for exams.
10 ReplyStudy for exams.
Writing papers restrict you to a particular subject and topic but studying gives you a broader scope to learn and I love learning.10 Reply
+1 ySince I was always the type that didn't study for exams, I'd probably choose study since that means I probably wouldn't do either lol

@Cherry234 Well, also, I don't JUST study. I first like to actually read the material carefully and soak it all in. Then the studying part is just a review of what I've already learned.
