How should I support those who work hard jobs like fast food?

I know working fast food is never easy, the pay is shit and people treat you like shit. It's not easy because you don't get paid enough to deal with the shit you have to put up with even when it comes to customers. Even when corporate policy states that customer is always right and you are wrong. As such you compelled to bend over backwards and to accommodate a pissed off customer because his burger had onion on it.

I was thinking of giving this girl a gift cert for $100.00 at a local high end restaurant for her to enjoy. Thought fullness in being aware of those around you and to give a gift to those who are not expecting.

Have you ever given a gift to some stranger out of no where? I'm not talking about pan handlers.
