English is my third language, however, I do not think I made any grammar or syntax mistake on the statement above. Regardless, what is your third language?
I always tip... I just can't believe that someone is driving through traffic and on a hot or cold weather and comes to your doorstep to deliver you food or something to enjoy and you don't give anything as a personal thank you gesture... what kind of an ass or spoiled brat does that lol
I'm a disabled University student who can barely afford to pay his tuition, even on grants, because he comes from a poor family. As a result of my disability, I can't drive. There times when I can't even leave my house to get groceries. Sometimes it's between ordering food and starving for me. I don't tip because I don't have any extra money. Medical and disability bills are extremely expensive. Every penny counts in my situation.
We don't get pizza delivery... we pick up at the store, where we leave a couple dollars to the store staff as a tip. If we ever got pizza delivered, of course we'd give the driver a tip.
Pizza places won’t do what you suggest because even they care more about their customers and profits than their employees. But yes, if you don’t want to tip, get off your lazy ass and drive to the store yourself.
"But yes, if you don’t want to tip, get off your lazy ass and drive to the store yourself." I'm perfectly fine doing that. That's how much I despise tipping. I'd rather never dine in a restaurant than to have to give people money for some pointless BS.
Unfortunately only the vast minority of people think that way, so the culture of the service industry paying its employees well below minimum wage is unlikely to change any time soon.
My parents just go if they want to bring food out. We don't order it home. However my dad always tips the waiter and sometimes the security guard and I'm also going to do that in future.
I do tip in restaurants and delivery drivers (and some others professions), but it shouldn't be necessary in my opinion. Employees should get paid a fair wage from what they can live and should not depend on people being nice to them. Why does the pizza guy need a tip but the Amazon driver not? Carrying out a service I paid for without fucking up is the minimum I expect and should not need a bonus. There are other countries where it works perfectly fine without
In my opinion, it's really poor folks who just want a pizza. Maybe they haven't thought through the entire process and realized that what they're doing isn't exactly nice to the other party involved (the delivery driver).
I usually give them some grace. Even though I admit that it is frustrating.
I'm completely on your side, though, and I agree 100%.
i did give her a tip. i took off my pants and offered to pay with sex. she pepper sprayed me. Now it was very thoughtful of her to season my face the same flavor as my pizza but truthfully i don't think she got that much on the pizza, mostly on me
i had to add my own crushed red pepper at home. 1 star
Some places have a delivery charge that goes right to the driver. Depends on who's vehicle is being used - if it's store owned, they often keep the fee, which tends to not work out for the driver. But overall, you're correct. If you can't spare a few bucks to save yourself the trouble of going out yourself, you're a cheap ass MF.
@Slartybartfast I used to deliver for a place in Wisconsin that had a $3 delivery charge. When I used my own car, I got $2 per delivery. If I used their car, they got it all. I made good money on busy nights.
Some people are scraping the barrel, and are completely down and out. Most are just trash who don't understand how important a tip is in the service industry, especially the pizza delivery sector.
I hope someone makes it rain for you.

Depends on multiple things: - Is it already included in the bill? (if yes, I wouldn't because we already get forced to tip) - how is the service of the person? (including quality of pizza) - in what conditions has the deliver to be for delivery? (for instance I would tip more if its bad weather or snowy)
Sadly this is some forced thing multiple country's have in order to pay their staff way below minimum wage. Its truly disgusting how shops mistreat their staff.
Most have a tip added to the cost. They get paid to deliver it so no tip is needed but I do sometimes anyway, especially if they are driving an old beater.
I could be that kind of person, as I only tip if they have got that step more and as either very good at delivery, or pleasant, I believe people has to earn the tip
@nachosaresexy you hit the nail right on the head, the world has got lazy, I have never seen the point of tipping someone that say just places a plate on the table with out a smile
So when someone like you stiffs your server, and the next person does the same, you expect these people being paid LITERALLY BELOW MINIMUM WAGE* to keep magically serving you with food, drinks and rainbows up your a**hole.
*below minimum wage here in the US; does it work the same in the UK?
@nachosaresexy regardless of wages, one can still smile, the wages has nothing to do with me, plus the fact that if you pay by card etc, those workers don't get it all, tour only paying the boss more so up your ass
It’s less common in the UK, there is legislation requiring employers to pay a minimum wage, it would be much simpler to charge an amount for the pizza that allows the employer to pay a reasonable wage to the employee
People don't have to tip and expecting one is the employee's own fault. There's no law towards you have to or not allowed to. I recommend finding another job rather than relying on tips and complaining about not receiving enough or none from people.

I always tip. If I didn't have enough spare money to tip, I simply wouldn't order and make something at home.
Wait... wut?
sorry, you were making too much sense and I had to catch my breath.
English is my third language, however, I do not think I made any grammar or syntax mistake on the statement above. Regardless, what is your third language?
My responses were intended to be positive towards your opinion but I admit I worded them in a dumb way.
The first one was intended as sarcasm, as in, "wait... wut... stop making so much sense!"
Which might still not make sense, but in simple terms your original comment was refreshingly straight forward and logical.
In that case, I apologize for misinterpreting it.

Fortunately I live in a country where employers have the decency to pay acceptable wages so we never tip.
Low key I never have cash anymore. If I forgot to tip online or the platform didn't allow, id ask for the drivers venmo, PayPal or Zelle.

Wow, security guard.. I never thought of that. I think I'm going to start doing that for some places. Great idea, great ethics, and thank you.
@youngmix your welcome 😊

I've never heard of a place where the driver got the fee..
I can tell you , dominos, pizza hut, donatos, Pappa John's, etc don't give the driver the fee.

The fee never goes to the driver.. never..
@Slartybartfast Yeah I heard that a lot. Kinda sad to be honest... :/ Forcing to pay extra for "tip" just to fill the pockets of the boss even more.
I always tip people. Ironically it is usuallly rich people who are lousy tippers.
Most have a tip added to the cost. They get paid to deliver it so no tip is needed but I do sometimes anyway, especially if they are driving an old beater.
I could be that kind of person, as I only tip if they have got that step more and as either very good at delivery, or pleasant, I believe people has to earn the tip
translation: i rationalize stiffing these underpaid workers by pretending that they should've done more to *earn* their tip.
then i watch fox news and get riled up about how many lazy people aren't willing to work an underpaid job to deliver my food.

Just messaged u about this
ya, that sucks, and they suck.
If anything, I tend to over tip.
