Are long nails that are bejeweled on a psychotherapist considered unprofessional?

I wouldn't put it in the category of "unprofessional", but it could be of concern for someone going to see a therapist. Funny you'd bring that up because a good friend of mine went to a therapist and he was put off by her flashy attire. I think someone wants to see someone a bit more "plain" maybe? Just my thoughts.
Not sure it would matter for myself, but people's perception matters when it comes to that sort of thing. I worked in medical for a long time. I talked to people who quit going to their physician just because he asked them how they liked their line of work. As if "that" mattered? Weird, I know.
Any distraction can be seen as unprofessional. The focus is to be on the client, not the therapist. Hopefully, the therapist explores her reasons for feeling a need to draw attention to herself. Would she wear a top that was cut down to her belly button?
