You make more money more quickly with less debt to income ratio in trades. There are a lot of professions we can do without, not so much on trades. I’m not a fan of the 18-24 age range in most humans, but it’s worse if they are living at college full time.
For those inclined to have a profession, a college education is essential. For those who don't wish to rack up a college debt for the rest of their working lives, an avocation, or a vocational school that addresses your abilities seems to me as the correct avenue of learning.
For wealth wise don’t go to college, there’s billionaires that never went to college lol…plenty of successful people that never went to college, people that claim you can’t be successful without going to college is laughable.
If you’re in fields like medical, defense, engineering and all that then you have to.
Unless you're going for mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or medicine I'd say college is as useless as a prius as the pacecar for NASCAR. I never went to college I just went right to work and I have achieved everything I needed to. I'm financially independant and stable and already have a higher salary than what most college graduates get in their field. I am not wealthy by any means. I still have to live on ramen noodles just to pay the bills from time to time.
It depends on what you want out of things. If your goal is money I would go for a trade eg. IT, Insurance, plumbing etc. If you REALLY want to work in a particular field then go to college but make sure you also cultivate skills tgat are applicable to a wide variety of jobs. eg. programming, computer skills, writing whatever
Paying 4 years of wages for college education is completely asinine. You will be working for the college until your 30s unless your parents fork up the dough or you get some sort of scholarship. We live in a gig economy so the underwater basket weaving lib arts degree for 80k, sort of screw you in the long run.
There are many jobs out there that may not pay the equivalent of a college grad. But when you take into the consideration that you need to pay all of that college loan back. You would probably be ahead of the game in the end! I attended a Vo-tech school during high school and feel that I made a good living because of it.
Simple statistics constantly prove it. College educated get 10x the pay. College loans are offset, low interest and rarely negatively hit your credit score.
Not going to college, well…vast majority rarely gets out of the labor jobs. And how are labor jobs doing lately?
That’s really subjective though, my sister is 40 and still owes, my coworker is 39 and still owes. Neither have jobs in the fields they went to school for and it prevented them from being able to afford a home before everything skyrocketed. Unless you have a scholarship I just don’t think it’s worth it for most people.
I have the highest degree possible in my field and I can say it was mostly a waste of time. Might pay off later.. But I'm not holding my breath. I think education can't compete with pure capability. If you're fuckin amazing at something and can prove it, you're sorted. Only thing with formal education up to BA level is the requirement from some companies. I wish I could say it's great but at this moment I truly believe you can educate yourself and get more out of it with less cost.
I honestly don't know any more. When I went to Uni, only 10-15% of students did, and anyone whose parents couldn't afford to send you got a grant to pay for it. No debt at the end of it.
It all depends on what occupation you have in mind.
There are quite a few occupations that only require some training and you can make a decent salary... That said, if you want to become a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, college is essential.
It's not about going to college it's about what you learn. There is plenty of people wasting their time and money in college. If you can learn a skill elsewhere and get payed that is the preferred way.
Not very, all the richest people I know didn't attend further education
Those I know that did are so stuck on their path that any upset to the expected progression is disastrous The rich ones just adapted and ploughed a new course
It depends on what you study. If college is for proffessional then it’s important. If the major is like philosophy that leads you to no where the i it’s not important. On the other hand, people only drink all their college years so it’s not important. They need to make money not spending on beer

@DarkWinterNights yeah I still owe. 6% interest. Totally worth it.

it is somewhat important... it is still very much relevant and extremely important to some careers and professions
and, they are also VITAL for progress and the stability in science
Yes going to college is extremely important in my country. You can't get a job most likely without attending College.
I honestly don't know any more. When I went to Uni, only 10-15% of students did, and anyone whose parents couldn't afford to send you got a grant to pay for it. No debt at the end of it.
On the other hand, learning is always good.
The important thing is you learn a sellable skill, whether you learn it at college or elsewhere is irrelevant.
Fk college. Bunch of... muda fuk... FK COL-*burp*
