Do you think that forcing yourself to grind at a job you're not suited for can eventually make you physically ill? How do you balance things?

There is evidence to support that. I've never been one to make excuses. And I've always had a strong work ethic. But I've also always been healthy as a horse. Then after never being sick or injured I break 4 bones in one year (last year) and spent a month in the hospital.
Dumb luck? Or am I starting to show my age and wear? Time (this year) will tell I guess.
Yeah it doesn't hit ya till it hits ya.
I was in a relatively minor collison with a car while cycling and that was the push that did it whole system meltdown. My immune system crapped out, I caught covid, and went from chubby but cycling 2h a day to nearly bedridden.
My chiropractor had fun checking me out today, head to toe overhaul she said. Lots of pinched nerves.
Doesn't help that I wound up with one leg shorter than the other after having my foot fixed. Probably going to need orthotics.
Feel like I aged twenty years over night practically. Not an experience I'd recommend.
How'd you break the bones?
Dumb luck I slipped at work broke 3 metatarsal in my left foot (nothing major) they gave me a boot and told me to rest it. I hardly ever take time off so I had a lot of vacation time to burn so I did that. After a few weeks my podiatrist said it was 85% healed so I could go without the boot a bit. And gradually transition back to a shoe. I took this as I could go back to work. So I went back with my boot and the same day back I slipped again (this time it was stupidity on someone else's part that caused it) I broke my ankle on my other foot (this time i needed surgery) my surgery was delayed and the required me to do some pre-op appts. Shuttling back and forth from them was a nightmare as the had my leg splinted all the way up passed my knee for some reason. Because of this I couldn't bend my leg to get into a normal size car. Workers comp paid for a shuttle service but I learned how much those things sucks. They're only on time or show up 50% of the time. And the workers comp kept forgetting to specify a vehicle like a van because of my splint. So they kept showing up with compact cars ( because the company could save money that way). I'm 6'5" so even without my splint that would've been hard. So they had me test for covid as my first appt. Because my apps. Were delayed they had to push my surgery back and because of it they had me test for covid again. While I tested negative the first time. I tested positive the second time. Because I had been limping around with a broken ankle for 2 weeks at this point. The surgeon decided to go ahead with the surgery even though I had covid. After the surgery they put me in the ICU for 2 days. Before moving me to a room. I still don't know if that wS standard procedure or not. What originally began as an outpatient procedure landed me in quarantine for 21days. And a month total in the hospital. They concluded I needed additional rehab so rather than sending me home they sent me to a nursing home for 2 weeks.
Damn that's a crazy snowball effect
Well I appreciate your story. Your story makes me feel better. If you can bounce back and stare life down so can I. 🙂
I think it is true but lately I have been taking time for my health but getting all kinds of weird conditions lately.
Yea, kind of why I'm taking the time for my health now, it's only going to get harder as I get older if I put it off.
