It is within the 'half plus 7 rule limit' and we are both classmates in grad school. I went to college late and worked for a few years before I went back to grad school which is why I am a 33 year old student...

9 year difference can be big, but not insurmountable.

You two are really the only ones who can make that call for yourselves.

My biggest concern with that kind of spread is a difference and incompatibility with lived experience.

I haven't had a good time dating people who have less life experience than I have. Even people the same age as me, but with less experience, have made it hard to really make strong connections past infatuation.

But if you two are similar enough in lived experience to be compatible, there's nothing wrong with it.
