Resume question anyone dropped old dates before , what needs to be there or not?

my problem is it makes me appear dated despite the fact most people who know me think i'm relatively young , being in my 30's some of the dates are starting to appear like there a long time ago. like to tell an employer i went to college or had a part time job in 2007 sounds like a very long time ago and i look younger so they might not even realise i was that old to begin with

i'm just not sure what i could drop without looking like i was trying to hide my past , although it may be necessary to do so at this point

You can drop everything that doesn't give you any value for the job you are applying too. Unless it gives you a lot of weird holes.

i do have some weird holes as been some periods of life where i wasn't working for long periods , sort of did odd jobs or sold things online

went to college years ago but look younger , some employers might not believe i went to college in 2006 based on my current appearance

Well it's sucks but those holes will cost you jobs. Which is why you need to look busy in your cv. Eventually the holes will be history. But you always list jobs and education in two different lists. And you rarely cut the education list even if it become aged. While you usually only list the last decade of jobs at most.

the education section not really an issue as i graduated high school and attended 2 different community colleges for 2 different programs when younger , but not sure why employers need to know specific years i attended would like to list them without dates

the job section more of an issue and tougher to try and lists things , I've read some people use a skills based resume , which focuses more on there skills than actual jobs

So they can validate that it's true. Hiding the dates is a sign that you don't want them to have the ability to double check. Not that many do.

i'm not sure how they would ever validate my time at a community college , i've never had an employer ever question that as its not even a degree program just a certificate

Well they can contact that school and check if they have issued a certificate to you. But to be honest most certificates aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

considering there local colleges i doubt they'd have any concerns about them being real , why would i lie about attending a basic program at a community college a decade ago , not claiming to have a masters degree

the issue is more my odd job history and gaps in that list
