What's your one best tip for succeeding a job interview?

1. Nice to meet you.
The first impression is always important. With a sincere and polite smile, you can shake hands with the other person and start the first sentence by stating that you are glad to have met. We are sure that this sentence, which seems to be quite simple, was forgotten in the excitement of the moment.
2. Thank you for taking the time to tell me.
After introducing yourself and stating your satisfaction, thanking you for this interview allows you to make a professional impression. When you indicate that you respect the other person's time and express your gratitude for it, you will show your respectful personality.
3. I feel lucky to be here.
By stating this sentence, saying that the company you are interviewing is an important goal for you in your career planning will show your enthusiasm for the job. Enthusiastic employee candidates, on the other hand, always bring motivation and successful jobs with them.
4. I've been researching your company.
Making it clear that you are doing research on the relevant company, knowing the vision, mission and history of the company will take you one step ahead of other candidates.
5. I've studied the job description.
You can show the importance you attach to the position by stating that you have studied the job description in detail. In the definition, you can focus on the details that attract your attention and are compatible with your competencies. Thus, before directly mentioning your education and previous work experience, you can underline your suitability for the position and prove that you are a strong candidate.
Nice tips! Thank you for sharingššš»
:) :)
ask for the job. at the end of my last interview they said "it was nice to meet you, we have three other people and our CFO would lile to skt down with each so we will let you know" i said "i went to another interview this morning and got the job. I really would like to work here though so let me know before i start this Monday" they called me less than an hour later and jve been working there for 8 years now
Thats really good! Thankyou!!
Good luck!
Thank you!
First, wear proper clothes! I have had people show up in jeans, shorts, tees, and sneakers. If you show up like that, Itās going to be a quick interview! (Without an offer)
Second, always learn about where you are interviewing. When I offer interviews, I have already read your résumé, and checked references. At this point, I want to know if your goals and values would enhance and build upon ours. In other words, tell me how you fit! If you havenāt done your homework about us, the interview isnāt going to go very well.
Third, do not answer my questions how you think I want you to. Think about it, and then give me your real answer. Iām looking for honestly, and your thought process.
I hope this helps, and GOOD LUCK!!!
That's nice!! Thankyou for the tips!
You work as manager? In US?
@missgingles actually no, Iām the Head Mistress of a school. So I am the person who is responsible for hiring, even though I am not a Human Resources person. (She does all of the relevant background checks and paperwork).
Okay cool! :)
I just went through this process for a couple of months. I finally found my first full time job out of college. I started a few weeks ago. I'd say knowing information about the company and highlighting your skills and strengths really helps. I believe I got my job because I did a good job of selling myself and my skills.
Comgratulations on your new job!š„³š¤
Thankyou for the great tip!

Your resume is going to be the biggest factor of course. But having too good of a resume can work against you as well. If it's a business with a fairly high turnover unfortunately they'll look at your resume and say, "the first chance he gets a Crack at a better job he's/she's quitting. I'm not hiring him/her". I have a friend of a friend who is in charge of hiring for his paper company and he says he'll go with education over experience almost every time. Because if and when it doesn't work out he has something more tangible to tell his boss why he hired them. He can say look at thier credentials.
Beyond all of this it's pretty much just telling the interviewer what they want to hear. I believe in honesty. But being completely will kill you in an interview unfortunately.
Cool thanks!
Don't lie about your experience, skills or criminal record.
I'll hire you if you have no experience. I'll hire you depending on the crimes you committed. But if you lie and I catch it, you'll be denied on the spot. If you get hired and we find out after that, you'll not only be terminated but your application and anything related will be sent to our legal department to press charges.
Good tip! You work as a manager?
Thats cool! In US?
Nice:)
Believe it or not, cleanliness matters! You must be all cleaned up and nice dressy interview clothes. Make sure your fingernails are trimmed and clean.
One guy I was interviewing with walked me to my car to see what kind of car I drive. And he even looked inside to see if my car was clean! 🤪
Being calm and confident. Think clearly about the answers you give them, even if it means they look at you sit there quietly for a few seconds when they ask you.
Because what that shows is you think things through, and donāt just blurt shit out. That translates to everything else in the job
Be comfortable, if you going for a role which doesn't require a suit on a daily basis, don't feel forced to wear one.
Do your best to feel relaxed, try and turn it into a conversation not just a Q&A session.
Be honest, not just with your answers but the way you act, you're going to be there every day so best find out now if you won't fit.
Have little stories to embellish your answers, short answers are just hard work for the interviewers and will make you stand out more.
Come in earlier and look your best. A late comer is a big NO
Thats helpful!
Yeah thats good!:)
Know everything you possibly can about the company you're interviewing with. Turn the thing around so that you're DOING the interviewing, making the interviewer seem like they need to make a case for why you should work THERE and not somewhere else.
Additional tips - do the above politely, and dress well, really well, like you CARE about the interview. Of course, none of this applies if you're going for a job at some fast food joint, except being polite and dressing appropriately.
Ask them questions. Don't just answer theirs. By asking them questions like "why should I work here" or "why did the last person leave" you put then on th4 defensive and they see that your thinking long game
Intressting! You've done this? How did they react?
Cool!
@missgingles like a good question would be, "how do you determine success here at 'whatever company name' " and "what is it like to work here at 'company name'. " You show interest in the company. Also, researching the company and history.
They asked my friend, "who are your favorite journalists here at NBC" and he didn't know any of them and didn't get the job.
@DEondeBeaumont great advice! :)
Complement his penis.
Here is how it works...

Eye contact, willing to learn and adapt to that companies' goals and work schedule. Do not talk about time off and vacation time to quickly. I was in management and hired people before. Dress nicely and smile. Do not bring up inabilities or lack of education.
Be confident. It helps if you do the Wonder Woman pose in front of a mirror for 10 seconds shortly before the interview. It actually works. You appear more confident
Awww thats so sweet! Thank you for the tip!
Show them that you are not there because you need to be for the money. Show them that you know what the goal of the company is and what ideas and skills you have to make it better.
I am probably the worst person to answer this question.
How come?
Congartulation on your job!:)
Cool thanks!
@exitseven so, for a while your job title was Professional Job Interviewee. I held that title once for 14 months! It wouldn't have taken so long, but every interview I went on required Spanish (bi-lingual).
Be confident and relaxed, and don't do this >
https://www.youtube.com/embed/HA2zFS63GAYin my opinion, you should treat a job interview like "formally meeting a new friend". the prime goal should not be to "get the job". the prime goal should be to be ok with the job and the team you're meeting.
Confidence, honesty and be genuine/authentic.
And apply for jobs that fit your skill set. Of course what helps in a interview depends on the type of work your applying for to.
Donāt lie, and let your boss have a freebie if asks you for one.
What's a freebie?
Wtf the advices on this thread are awful...
Marketing your strengths and accomplishments while being honest about your weaknesses
Source? I interview people all the time.
Smile, Be honest and Bring Great Resume!!! xx
LISTEN... to what the interviewer is saying and asking you, and answer each question honestly and openly.
Employers donāt look at resumes. Iāve been to many interviews and they ask me questions and write the answers on the resume beside the answer itself.
lol job interviews. I hve not used a resume in like 3 years.
How do you apply then?
I walk the walk because talking the talk says fuck all about you. You can brag and brag on a piece of paper until you can back it up with experience.
I agree with the others, just have confidence. Most people are desperate for help right now.
Be confident but not cocky I contact smile it shows that you're an asset not just a check collector
Be a young girl. No skills necessary. That is how to be successful most of the time.
Be authentic and tell them how much you want the job. Also, donāt be afraid to ask for a reasonable salary that fits your skills.
Be better than the other candidates.

Lol that was a joke! Well alright once as foreplay. By once I mean multiple.. Anyway never mention sexual history, but really show why you're qualified for whatever career you're going for. Confidence is a major factor.
