I am graduating from post-secondary this year, and I am so excited/ nervous/ scared about my future. I want to hear about other people's experiences, so here are some MORE questions if you're up to it.../

1. What is your educational background

3. How would you describe your career?

5. Do you enjoy what you do for work?

6. Did you consciously decide to do what you are doing now, or did you "just end up there"?

7. Whats advice do you have for a fresh twenty-something university graduate about to enter their job search?

8. And finally - if you could do it all again, what would you do differently? What would you do the same?

1. K-8, HS, BS in Graphic Arts, Certificate in Computer Programming and Data Processing, MBA, Diploma in Massage Therapy.
2. Part time Massage Therapist, and Graphic Artist. Full time grandpa.

6. It was more a series of semi-logical steps.
7. Get a broad exposure of subject matter and experiences. Be able to detect HOW you learn (by listening, tinkering, observing, by reading?) Know the difference between what you do WELL, and what you WANT to do. I am really excellent at painting walls, cutting in the edges, etc. (( I HATE doing it, so I do it very well so I will not have to re-do it AGAIN!)). When you go on an interview, learn as much as you can about the company you will be visiting. This will help you weed out the bad companies, give you insight as to the direction the company is headed, and perhaps some info about questions you might be asked.
8. The only difference was to sell some stock which I kept, but that's another story for another day! Good luck on your search.

7. Choose your carrier wisely. Look for your interest. Take time to learn the skill required for the job. Look for long term carrier growth.
