I just got offered the job for a at remote guest services rep for a major hotel chain. I need to set up a home office. Any tips or advice on the matter?

Pretty standard tip. If possible, set it up in a separate room that is only used for work. When you are in that room, you are at work. When you are off work, don't use the room. If you don't have an extra room, do the best you can - maybe with a partition, arrangement of furniture, etc. Don't let work and your leisure life become mixed.
Shower and get dressed for work. Don't turn into a slob. It's very easy for that to happen when you don't leave your home regularly.
Also, when you are working at home, try to be disciplined about the hours your work. If the company has remote login, that'll take care of most of it. If they don't have remote login, and you rely on yourself to create your hours, then you need to be strict with yourself and don't be tempted to work extra time. Like if you are off work and think of something you need to do, wait until the next work day. Same with simply getting bored and working for something to do.
Log ALL your time. This includes misc stuff that might not seem like much. If you were away to work, all that kind of stuff would be on the clock. So don't work for free. A few minutes here and there adds up.
Don't get in the habit of running to the kitchen to grab snacks/food while you are working. That's a good way to gain weight quickly.
Speaking of gaining weight. Get some extra exercise. It might surprise you how much difference it makes between getting up and leaving the home every day vs sitting at home all the time.

For home offices you will want plenty of lighting and make sure you have enough outlets for all your equipment. If you have to use a power strip make sure it has a surge protector built in to protect your equipment. A good one usually run between $75 - $100.
Set everything up so it's within arms reach from your desk. You can put a printer on your file cabinet if it's not too high.00 Reply
Make sure its on its own space, not something mixed like not doing it in a chair where you may also be eating, or watching movies
Try to make it clear, have a window near by, and less distractions if you can
Make sure you got elctric set up there
Make sure the space behind dont look too busy if you may have vdeio calls00 Reply

Depends on how much space you have to work with. But a laptop sitting on a table, and a portable file cabinet would probably work in most situations. I work from home a fair bit and don’t even own a printer.

They will send most of the equipment I need, I'm just trying to configure an arrangement for a comfortable home office space. I got the file cabinet and laptop though.

Make sure you set up in a room the furthest from where you sleep and that it’s got a door. The idea is when you go there you are working and then can close the door and live your life in the rest of the house.
